RV Toilet Paper

Just in case a few new happy campers are perplexed by the proper toilet paper for your black tank. Don't get consumed by the special packaging thus end up purchasing the expensive "RV" brand at Camping World, watch this video before stocking up.

X2 on the TP and dawn. Also put a splash or two of household bleach every few tanks.

Okay...Dawn dish soap? What's that do? Is that instead of the blue stuff?

Exactly, ~1/2 cup with a gallon of water or so in the black and in the gray tank, skip the water in the gray tank. We don't use bleach, was told it can damage the internals of the system.
We are frugal, are we?

Helps keep things clean. Forgot to mention the liquid water softener added about every third tank. This keeps the inside of the tank slick so nothing sticks and tank probes working.

We mix about a cup of Super Clean and a cup of Pinesol and about a gallon of water after using the black tank flush every time I empty the black tank. Use the same mixture in all 3 tanks if we're going on the road and just leave it in the tanks.

I never could quite understand the rationale of bleach in a black water holding tank..it is what it is...a black water holding tank, it doesn't need sterilization. I understand the keeping clean and using Dawn or the blue packets if one so desires and the water softener/geo method, but I skip the bleach...Now bleach in the fresh water tank at start of season and periodically...now that makes sense!
