Sewer Tank Flusher nozzel

On the side of my Flagstaff 831KRSS there is a hose connector that is labeled "sewer flush" and warns that all sewer drains should be open when flushing. I hooked up a hose to this and turned it on but nothing happened. I can't find a manual anywhere to tell me how to "flush" the sewer. Can anyone help me out?

FR had a bunch of vacuum breaker/check valves on those systems that were bad. Somewhere in your rig, maybe in a closet you should find a couple of tubes that come up into and out of a small black box. This is the the vacuum breaker. You can verify if it is bad by disconnecting the tubes from it, have someone turn the water on for the "sewer flush" port, you will get water out of one of them really fast. Be sure the person outside at the water valve can hear you yell "turn it off" so you wont get a flood, have towels and a bucket handy. If you get water then more than likely the check valve is bad.

Dave ,on my 831BHSS when you hook up the garden hose and have your black tank valve open turn on your hose and you should hear water flushing the black tank and water should start running out of the black dump valve.The line that feeds my flush runs through area where my fresh water pump is and through the floor to the black tank,I am not sure if there is acheck valve to keep water from coming back but if there is it could be installed wrong you may have to turn it around.Hope that helps some,Roger.

OK - thanks for the info. I'll have to check to see if there is a valve or something. Does anyone know where I could get a manual or something to show me how it is supposed to be hooked up?

Trust me there IS a vacuum breaker/check valve, it is required of such systems by law so that you don't run the risk of it back flushing sewer water into your hose and therefore the water supply system. The same types of valves are also required in the installation of in-ground sprinkler systems and the installation of bidet toilets in houses.

I went to use my flush system for the black tank this spring and the wife yelled like mad at me. Seemed the flush broke and sprayed water all over inside the TT (831QBSS) This November I will add this to the list of repairs when they remove the sides of the TT and replace both walls. Seems to me like a convenient time to make the repair while she is all exposed.
