Shower heads
Was in Lowe's the other day looking around shower heads and was wondering is there any difference between a house shower head and an RV shower head. I know the RV shower head probably saves water but is that the only difference. Seems to me it is but it's just a question across my mind.

Simply put... no... other than R/V shower heads usually cost about $1 (cheap) and residential shower heads can be relatively more expensive.
You are going to get all kinds of replies about the 'next best thing since sliced bread' shower head but in reality, the water saving feature 'usually' comes from the faucet control having a restriction or a restriction washer in the hose connection at the faucet or the where it connects to the shower head.
And unless I'm ignorant, I've not seen a pump built into those shower heads claiming more pressure.

Buy an oxygenetic on Amazon & thank me later. Water pressure is the same as stated above, but it mixes air with the water to an as close as your going to get to a home shower.

Oxygenics has the body spa model and the furry model. Which is better or worse and what's the difference aside from white or chrome ? They seem same to me.

X2. Have the same one. Wife loves it as enough pressure to wash her hair.

First mod we’ve done with the last 3 RVs we owned was replace the standard shower head with an Oxygenetics. The current trailer has the Fury. Love it!

x2 on this - that's the very first thing we do when we bring new campers home. Makes tons of water pressure and it really feels like your shower at home.
I think one difference in RV shower heads is the trickle-switch; the toggle that you use to temporarily turn off the flow of water when you are soaping up so the water doesn't continually run. The shower head does not completely shut off, it stays dripping to relieve pressure (I think) but more importantly, reminds me that I have it on. One of my residential shower heads has something similar but I don't think that's the norm.

When you're on city water the answer to your question is ..... yes and no.... BUT
when you're boon docking and using your water pump a GOOD RV shower head has an air injection feature that makes the sometimes less than optimal water flow feel much more like a full flow shower.
We recommend eco-camel because the hose is VERY flexible and the shower head push button shut off shuts off completely where the oxygenics always dribbles by design. This causes your water pump to run every couple seconds while you're lathering up.
This buzz... pause... buzz... pause annoys me to no end!
Eco-camel doesn't do this.

I hear this statement regularly on this site.
I like someone to explain to me how the Oxgenics shower head makes "tons of water pressure."?

from their web site:
Strength Comes from Within
Power of a Mini Jet Engine
The Oxygenics engine is what drives our Oxygenics spray settings. Water is first introduced into a pressure chamber that works like a mini turbine jet, increasing water velocity.
Oxygenated Bliss
Water then passes through an air vacuum at high speed, which infuses oxygen into every drop. The pressurized and expanded water is released through the shower head nozzles, creating a highly efficient use of water that conserves energy and water.

On my last camper I purchase this design, and want at all impressed. The hose never relaxed, staying in the shape you see below.
The one below looks like a better unit, but I like the sprayer that came with my current 5R.
I might give this one a try. (After the other “upgrades” that are in the works.)

I agree 5picker, Oxygenics doesn't produce or manufacture any more pressure. And it doesn't save any more water than other heads of the same gpm.
But it does inject air and it makes it feel like there is more pressure, but it is just an increase in force and volume (water + air through a venturi). Makes for a nicer shower, especially at lower pressures. Guess you could call it a perceived increase?
And for folks complaining about stiff hoses, most shower hoses and heads are interchangeable. So use whatever hose you want. I bought one of those segmented metallic looking hoses from Lowe's. Very flexible and universal.
We combined the Oxygenics head (we like the standard RV head the best) with a Shower Miser and use them with our tankless water heater (I almost said hot water heater just to piss off THOSE folks ). Perfect combination that works exceptionally well for us.
