slide

How far out should the slide go. I put the slide out and had hard time closing it. I had to push from the outside and my wife held the button before we could get it to close. Did I extend it to far. How far should it go.

I had the same Problem with mine, I took the slide motor off and cleaned it up
with PB Blaster It now works like a champ. Also check your Battery it may be low on water.

Good Luck,
Woody

Tell us a little more about your RV. Take Woody's advise about the battery connections. Slide motors draw lots of power and if there's a bad connection it won't operate correctly.

Thanks I will check the battery, but it seems to have enough juice. We have a 2006 Flagstaff 8528RKSS and have yet to use it. This is our first 5ver and bought it at an auction, we are still trying to figure out all the switches by the door. Is there a web for learning all the gagets in the unit. When you said you cleaned up the motor did you have to take it apart or just sprayed it. Thanks for all your help.

I removed the panel over it and removed the 4 -3/8" screws which hold it in place leaving the wires hooked up.I then sprayed it with PB Blaster and had my DW run the motor back and forth. I then reinstalled it and tested it.
It now is working like a champ. I too thought my problem was the Battery
but after I replaced battery, but new battery did not solve issue that is when I went to the motor.

Good Luck,
Woody

My Flagstaff would also "stick". I bought a can of slide out lubricant at Wal-Mart and used it. I put the slide out and sprayed the teeth and gears as directed on the can. Worked the slide a few times and it has worked fine. I now just spray once a month or so and have not really had any issues.

You might also want to lubricate the seals around the slide. I know mine cling together when it has been sitting in one position (open or closed) for a period of time.
