We had 2 bars inside our unit, with only 1 super slide! Have NEVER used them, after 1000s of miles towing! Your slide May need them! Youroo! !

I bought a two owner 2008 Rockwood Signature Ultra-Lite camper last year. The PO did indicate that the camper never had them as he knew the owner prior to that.

I saw that in the owners manual as well and saw the stickers that indicate where they are to be located. I added them just to be safe.

However, I could make a strong case not to use them too as it would be easy to forget that they're there and operate the slide anyway. Doing that would be catastrophic I would think.

We bought two bars with our camper, Flagstaff 832OKBS. The service guy said that 85% of his service work on slides was from not using any bars.

We got one with our 2109 back in 2014. Never used it or was told about it until we sheared off a shear bolt by not moving something before we slid. Repair vendor suggested we use it and we do. Found it really hidden under the seat. Yes, you have to remember to take it off or you with shear another bolt and the bright hanging tag helps us remember it. Just would not like to look out the window and see it start to creep out. By the way, learn what size your shear bolt is and carry a few spare. Can save repair costs if you do forget the lock

Used ours once on our 2007 Jayco, tossed them into the garage and never looked at them again. Don't use them on our 2018 either.

Regardless of using a slide lock or not, if you leave something in the path or behind the edge of the slide (been there done that) you're going to tear up your slide either way. The lock isn't going to prevent that.

Coast to coast and border to border. Have never used them and no issues.

Another one here, had them but never used them. It would be a bummer to open the slide with them in place, they rest against the trim and could easily beak that off,

The slide locks are only required for certain model sideouts.
