Had them on all 3 of units. Had one for 5 years with no repair work needed. It sat in sun all day for 5 years. Keeps water and sun off slide tops, sticks, leaves and bird poop out.

Yep like everyone commented a good addition if you have them. Many positives to having them.

I would not go without them. Keeps the trailer cooler inside, rain potential from entering, and debris off the top....Saves me about 20-30 minutes each time I close the trailer up after a trip. That alone makes it worth the cost.

Has anyone installed yourselves? Was it difficult?

I installed our toppers myself. If you follow the directions and have someone to help you, it's not too difficult. Take your time and don't skip any steps is key.

Question New topper concern.

I recently had Camping World recommend that I replace my topper since it had a small tear and I was replacing the awning anyway. Although it had a small tear, it was always taut and kept the rain from pooling up. Now that I have the new one, tons of rain water pools up and when I close the slide, its like a waterfall. I didnt have this issue with the old one but now I do. Its made by Dometic.

So now the question; is the topper supposed to keep that water from pooling or is this normal?

Slide Toppers

DW and I just ordered a V-Lite and got "toppers" as Texas sun heats slide out roofs something awful. Trash getting into seals in another issue also I hope to cut back.

I was told not to by previous dealer as "they flap in the wind". Well, put something under them!

Your awning needs to be tilted down somewhere. Our trailer we are replacing could not be adjusted and only option was roll it up. I miss the old manual ones with braces back to the coach that could be lowered until the door almost touched them and you would be good unless a "FROG" strangler came along.

Looks like they have the spring tension set too loose, take it back and make them redo on their dime.
