Thanks.
I have had mine go off from campfire smoke when just the screen door was open. Smoke was carried by the wind from 30ft away and really could not be seen very well. Keep the big door closed now as there was a stink from smoke on the TT.

Pull the unit out of the trailer and blow it off gently with some compressed air or vacuum it with a shop vac. Bugs, spiders for sure and dust particles can and will cause them to go off.
A small coating of debris will activate it when the temp starts to rise as the condensation will trigger things.

It's not unusual for these detectors to go bad; they reach "end of life". I had to replace ours and the new one has been fine. In a few years I could have to do it again.

True, many a time at home, the DW uses it to let me know my toast is ready.

X2.
You can also buy a battery powered detector & if only the hard wired in dectector goes off, you'll know that it's bad.

I have experienced, on some of the cheaper models, that very high humidity will set them off. Suggest replacing unit with the best that you can afford.

X2

If it's cool inside and you open the door in the AM and it's really humid outside, that's what causes condensation at the ceiling level affecting the smoke alarm.

Defective alarm

Forest River puts in the cheapest alarm they can buy $10 at Home Depot . Buy a better quality one and your problem will be fixed as I did.

Are you asking about the smoke detector or propane detector. I have no input on the smoke detector but lots on the propane detector. Many things set mine off: opening the refrigerator door, lighting the oven, spraying febreeze, sometimes it just goes off on it's own. It is no where near expired but it is a piece of junk. When it goes off I pull the fuse and put it back in. The propane detector resets itself and is good for another week or so. I'd replace it if I thought the replacement would be any better.
