So tell me, why did you choose the 'Flagstaff' brand?

What made you purchase the 'Flagstaff' brand from Forest River?

Price, layout, weight, asthetics , dealer all combined to reach our decision.

Saw the floorplan we liked in a Rockwood, checked the local Rockwood dealer who seemed to be averse to getting our floorplan, then a friend noticed that Flastaff had the same floorplan and then I was able to see physically view one at the local Flagstaff dealer. That sealed the deal. We searched far and wide for one with the Emerald package and found one 850 miles away. That's how we are Flagstaffers.

you do know that Rockwood models are the exact twins of Flagstaff models?
only difference is the outside graphic and fabric designs inside.
both are built on the same assembly line.

and there are way more Rockwood dealers than Flagstaff dealers, so there's much more price competition on Rockwoods.

but just discovered that RVDirect added Flagstaff to their lineup. doesn't make any sense to me since they also carry Rockwood so they are selling twin brands.

Agree, OP asked about Flagstaffs, not Rockwood. We purchased our 2 FLAGSTAFF trailers because we have the largest dealer in NC about 20minutes from our house and we get more "bang for the buck" with FLAGSTAFF. We have had only very minor problems with both of the FLAGSTAFF trailers. Would buy another if something happens to the 5er we have now.

BTW, our dealer does not stock Rockwoods.

I don't believe a dealer would carry both.

Where we live in central Indiana, there is a Flagstaff dealer about 5 miles away and the next closest that sells either of the brands is a Rockwood dealer about 30 miles away.

I'm guessing part of their deal with FR is that FR will limit the competition in the area.

As stated, the Rockwoods and Flagstaffs are identical in floorplans, with just some minor variations in outside and inside color schemes.

The reason I went with the Flagstaff was the dealer beat the Rockwood dealer by $4000 on the same trailer.

The reason I considered either, was the floorplan.

In our case, the closest Rockwood dealer was a brand new start up.
They were a truck dealer that thought they wanted to sell RV's too.
The saleman was a young kid who knew nothing about their product.
They are no longer in business.

The next closest dealer, Toscano's in Los Banos, CA carried Flagstaff.
Same trailer just different stickers and colors..kind of like GMC/Chevy.

I did all of my research on-line so I knew what I wanted.
The dealer was great, and I knew a couple of people that had bought there and had a good experience.

If they sold Rockwood then that's what we would have bought.

We chose this family of fivers becase I wanted a ultralight that I could pull with my 1/2 ton and we liked the layout.

Floor plan was perfect, the amenities were abundant and well thought out, and the price was very competitive. Like many of you, we do many of the RV shows, and try and keep current with trends and what's new in creature features. We knew the 832IKBS was "the one" the moment we stepped into it. I researched the model extensively beforehand, but nothing compared to seeing it in person.

We purchased it in mid-July, have camped with it for around 35 days so far this year, and not a single issue, warranty or otherwise. This is the first RV we've ever owned that hasn't had some shakedown cruise issues to deal with. Keeping our fingers crossed!

We looked for almost 2 years and attended several RV shows and dealers. Floor plan was first priority and the 832IKBS nailed what we looking for. Large bedroom area, good working kitchen, proper placement of the TV etc.
Fit and finish exceptional and everything works. I have run a new bead of silicone in the shower on the outside wall and fixed the loose wooden panel on the fridge.
Over 4,000 kms on the unit since purchasing and very pleased.
Will be winterizing the trailer this weekend.

A tour of the factory in Millersburg, In. convinced me of the quality for a light weight unit. This, coupled with Forest River's service reputation clinched the deal for me.

Over 30 days on the road and 4,000 miles and the only thing I needed was a new remote for the fireplace. Absolutely no issues. I'm still waiting for the first shoe to drop.

Because I live in Flagstaff, and wanted a camper that also had a deck for my quad. Rockwood has the same layout but the interior of the Flagstaff seemed nicer, and it just seemed the right fit.

We were at an RV show and saw the trailer we now own. They made us a deal we couldn't refuse and we bought it 2 months later. Got treated like a second class citizen at the other dealer we saw a unit we were interested in so it was thier loss not ours (BTW it was not a Forest River brand unit). SO I guess it was the right unit in the right place at the right time for us, did not even know Rockwood existed at the time or who Forest River was for that matter.

we liked the floor plan on our flagstaff classic super lite. have not had any trouble with anything so far. ours is a 2009 model.the 5th wheel pulls great. we have camped just over 50 nights so far this year in it.

Stepped in, walked thru, looked at DH and said;

This is it. Go find a salesman.

It just fits us. Love the island kitchen, adore the big bathroom in the V nose.

A huge factor for us, while shopping, was that we could actually watch TV without looking to the left or right.

We both have neck injuries. What the heck is with the floor plan designers that they so seldom place the entertainment system in a straight on viewing position?

I don't want to have to sit at a banquette to watch TV!

X2 regarding the rare and unhealthy viewing angle of a lot of tt or 5th wheels.
