squeaky hot water faucets

OK...I'll bite. How does one take them apart to address the squeak? We of course have a model with two bath lavatories!!! Any how, are replacement faucets a better idea or does some one know of a good repair?

Our kitchen sink faucet squeaked horribly when you turned
either handle.
I took it apart and put some silicone o-ring grease on the
stem and seals and put it back together.
The squeak came back in just a few days.
Wound up buying a new faucet at Home Depot.
It's a fairly simple swap out.

In a bath faucet you might want to measure the distance from
the spout to an imaginary line that runs between the centers of
the hot and cold handles. We'll call this the spout length.
You probably want to look for a replacement that has similar
spout length.

If You're keeping the trailer for the next few years it's worth
upgrading the faucets.

Cheap made in china plastic faucets. Replace them, even the cheapest H.D. or Lowes faucet is far superior to these dollar store faucets, and it's a simple swap. And, if you change out the shower faucet, it will actually turn the proper direction!! Randy

While mine was under warranty I had the squeaky faucets repaired by the dealer. He said if they start squeaking again to lubricate them with some Vasaline.

I used silicone O-ring grease.
It lasted about 15 minutes.
YMMV.

The best repair is to replace them. On mine the faucet that make the squeak is the hot one when you run enough water in it to warm the faucet. As the water get hot the expansion in the cartridge become very tight and the faucet become tight to open and make the squeak. Even on home cheap faucets made in China you get this problem. Get good faucet replacement made in the US or Canada in replacement. I understand the the weight will be a factor but you will have something much better in your hands. Rv" faucets are all made of plastic for weight saving but the quality is not there. Only the look is there.I will give you another problem, Have you noticed how hard your high rise spout in the kitchen faucet is hard to turn? even if you put plumber grease on the o rings it is very hard to turn. The reason is they are putting o rings that are too big and tight. I replaced mine with the next smaller size o rings and you should see the difference now. Very smooth and no leak on the spout. And this is on my new 2011 rockwood trailer.
