Stabilizer hitch and Bar with Micro Lite 21FBRS

Does anyone tow their micro-Lite 21FBRS with a stabilizer hitch and bar? We towed ours home today and didn't have one and it towed fine. Just wondering what we should do.

If it towed fine, you should be able to get by without them. It will/may tow differently fully loaded. They will make a difference on bouncing up and down a little. But your unit is not all that big, it does depend on what you are pulling it with too.

When we towed a TT, we used this:
Equal-i-zer® Hitch - The “American Original” with 4-Point Sway Control™ and Weight Distribution

And towed with a RAM 1500 - similar to yours

I would never consider towing a TT without it. The anti-sway feature is worth its weight in gold!

My last TT had almost identical tongue and empty weights. I pulled it many thousand miles with just the ball and it pulled great. But, that was with my 1 ton...big difference. With a 1/2 ton I would.

I will have a 10000/1000 4-point Equalizer for sale soon if you're interested. Don't need it anymore as I'm trading my TT for a 5th wheel. Would never be without one for towing a TT. If you happen to be close by...

Even at that size, I think I'd want some type of weight distribution hitch, rather than towing with just a ball. A lightweight WDH would be appropriate in my mind. Something like an Equal-I-zer 600/6,000 looks to be something I would consider, given the specs I see for your trailer. Or even Taranwanderer's 1,000/10,000.
I have used an Equal-I-zer since '08, towing a Rockwood Roo 23SS for 5 years and now my Flagstaff Super Lite 27BESS. Haven't had a bit of problems. Gives weight distribution as well as sway control.
I'd rather have something and no problems, than not have something and experience problems at the most inopportune time.

Thanks for your posts. I'm a little irritated at the dealer for just sending us off without making sure we had the proper hitch. We went last week to make sure and they said nothing. We have a 4 point hitch for a camper we just have sitting at a site and we never tow. I think we will just get that and use it.

Vpierce, if you'd read the towing section of your owner's manual, it should have a hitch weight or trailer weight that requires using a WDH.
my Chevy Avalanche's manual had that amount in the towing section.

and don't go by what's stamped on the receiver. that's what the receiver itself is rated for and not what the truck is rated for.

Ours tows well with our 3/4 ton PU, with or without the WD hitch hooked up. But coming south through MI last summer with a nasty crosswind, I was glad we had the WD with anti-sway bar. When you need it, you NEED it.

Can't believe a salesman passed on a chance to sell you something!

Even if you don't "need" a wdh for your setup, the sway control is really nice on windy days. That alone will probably make it worth the effort.

Enjoy the new rig.

I just traded ky 21 FBRS on a 25 DS and I towed it with a weight distributing hitch and anti sway bar. I do not know how it tows without it. Towed just fine with it though.

We have the same tt , and our 2006 dodge 1500 pulled it fine without a wdh. We now have a f250 SD PSD, and I can't even tell it's hooked on the hitch. The dodge settled about 2", the 250 maybe 1"

If anyone is interested the2013 flagstaff FBRS is for sale $12500. We have maybe 10 more days before the new 5er comes in then we will have to trade it in
