storm windows and slide awnings

we go to dealer in 3 days to sign new order for 831fkbss. Asked about storm windows. Dealer said they are clip on plexiglas. Anyone know for sure? clip on or screw on? We feel we need them because we do go to snowy areas. Not sure it would be worth the hassle to get them if they aren't clip on. Help. Also we want to order awnings for the slides if we should. No awnings over our current tt slides and no problems. But should we get them on our new tt order? Please give your opinions

not sure about your particular model but I can tell you it is plexiglass but on my 2306 they were screwed into the wall.

They can be removed but if they are screwed into the wall you could just put the screws back in so they dont get lost - if they have the clips that would be better as it would make it quicker for installing and removing

We ordered storm windows for our 2011 2902SS Rockwood and none of the storm windows would fit and if they did fit we would have to remove the window treatments (shades and valances) and then screw the windows to the frame and re-install the window treatments. Forest River refunded our money for the storm windows. If you want storm windows get a rig that has an option for thermo pane windows

The slide toppers are a good investment IMHO. We have them on our '10 Rockwood 8315BSS (twin sister to your model).

I don't really want to take down the window treatments each time I add or remove the storm windows. Maybe we'll use the plastic film that can be installed with a blow dryer and forgo the storm windows. Slide awnings, still probable.

Slide awnings are worth it, not only do they keep the top of the slide out cleaner and keeps most of the rain of them but also when the slide out is closed it keeps water from getting behind the top seal.

Yes....on the slide toppers or awnings. You won't regret buying these. As the Storm windows go.....We have the 2011 Rockwood Windjammer. Ours are Plexiglass with a metal trim around them with a rubber gasket. They are all held in buy clips that are screwed into the camper walls(inside camper). We did have a few clips that I added spacers too,so they clipped and un-clipped easier. Ours you dont have to remove any window treatments to get at(remove). Are they worth the extra money ?? For only costing at the time $150, I desided to get them!. Would double-pane windows be better yes, but they dont offer them, just the storm windows installed on the inside. --- so coin toss on the storm windows.

Well, we ordered it on the 18th. No Storm windows, but we did order the awnings for the two slides. Thanks everyone
