It is exactly the same coax connector, identical. The plastic around it may be slightly different to fit their own receiver tho. I am using my sirius sportster receiver modded into the XM adapter plate that came in my new Rockwood, I depinned the coax from the plastic connector and it plugs directly into the back of the sirius radio and if you look at the antenna aiming strength bar it is 100% strength.
I looked at that meta answer link you found, I think it is a lot of maybes and freq talk. All I know is it works perfectly for me!
