On one of his photos, it looks like there was a bulge right above the pile of shavings. That led me to believe it was termites, but I'd think you'd see some wood dust as well. There is, after all, a layer of think plywood atop the styrofoam. But I didn't want to scare him. I put my money on bugs, especially after 4 years.

I am home for a couple of days. We have been out in the trailer since the 18th and will be there until the 30th. No sign of any "fresh" material. No sign of mice, bugs, ants, or any other creatures. I guess if it doesn't re-appear we are OK. Thanks for your concern. I don't know about the "contest" but I will be the winner if we get rid of this stuff for good. Thanks all.

It does look like styrofoam shavings. Are there pre-existing cut-outs for wires or anything like that above the shavings?

Hey guys, I'm home again. No signs of the white stuff re-appearing. We have been in the trailer for two weeks and no sign of any creatures....no ants, bugs, mice,....nothing. This does not feel like styrofoam shavings. Feels more like plastic. I'll have time to watch for anything new developing. I will look closer at the cabinet where I found most of it to see if I can find the source of entry. Looks like it may have fallen from the ceiling because of the location of the "dust". Ran the AC/Fan a good bit over the two weeks, but saw no new evidence.
Still dumbfounded.
