strange white stuff

Found this white stuff in bedroom closet, cabinet top and in overhead (overbed) light cover. Looks like salt and feels like a soft plastic powder of some kind. Have only seen it in the bedroom. I have never seen anything like this before. Anyone have any idea what it is and how it could have gotten in these places.

Any ideas?

if you clean it up does it reappear?

Looks like maybe the 'sawdust' from cutting holes for lights, etc through the insulation in the ceiling & exterior walls. We had a little of similar looking stuff in our new camper in the corners of some cabinets, but once we had cleaned it up it did not reappear.

Any other guesses? Beuler? Beuler?

Have I been asleep and missed something? Look at the date of the photo! That white stuff is the least of my worries! If the date is correct!

Seriously, is this a new trailer? Or has this just started?

Sorry guys. It is a 2008 trailer. Was posting from my wifes laptop last night and the date/time was fouled up and I didn't bother fixing it. I was concerned with getting the photos uploaded.

The trailer sat out the summer til now. Found a little of the stuff inside the back outside storage compartment this morning but not a lot. The saw dust theory sounds possible. Will be moving trailer today and won't be able to get back on the forum for a few days. I will repost as to results when I get back.
Thanks for your interest.

I can see this happening in a new trailer, as we had some of this stuff aroudn our unit when it was new. But this one is 4+ years old. What climate do you live in?

We previously had a 2006 Sandpiper, and EVERY TRIP as long as we had it, we would find sawdust-type material on our bed - evidently where they had cut the hole for the vent. It got to be funny, because it was ALWAYS there even after years of camping.

But - it was never in the quantity shown in the pictures...nor was it that pure white. It had browns and tans - like sawdust from wood.

Didn't get away today as planned but will tomarrow morning.

Found more of the white stuff today in the front storage compartment under the bed on driver side only. Does seem strange after 4 years. Now I remember where I have seen this stuff. It is just like the artificial "snow" we used to put on christmas trees years ago. Same feel and consistancy as the snow. Sticks to your clothes...static electricity I guess.

I live in southwest Arkansas (60 miles from Texas/25 from Louisiana) if that gives any clues.

Thanks guys
Mickey

Mice ? Put a few sticky pads around. Be careful if you have pets around.

Carpenter bees!

Hope I win!

Could it be fiberglass shavings?

To heck with the sticky pads, use the ole snaptrap. Works everytime!

My money is on an infestation of some kind.
Mice or bees. Something is chewing up the Styrofoam.

I'm gonna guess mice. Had heard mice chewing one night in my old trailer many years ago, when I parked it in a field. Caught 3 mice the next couple days. Never could find where they got in or where they were chewing, even after having it another 7 or 8 years.
