So is this normal for a new TT or just my Flagstaff?
normal.......the closer you look the more frustrated you will get

I believe the real problem is that everyone complains on the forums and not to FR. FR obviously doesn't read the forums. If you want something done, complain to FR.

When I tore down my 1975 Airstream for a rebuild I found cigarette butts, beer can pull tabs and over a hundred pop rivet stems inside the walls, along with some graffiti. Took off some plaster in my parents house that was built around 1908 and found a couple of vodka bottles in the walls. Some things NEVER change!

Should not be an excuse! I was at the dealer looking at a Rockwood 5er when SOB was brought in by a transporter. When he took the paperwork in a few from sales came out to see it. I asked what was going on and was told they wanted to see the new "nose job" for 2016. I asked to see inside and service brought a battery to open the slides. My wife, then I were the 1st in after slides were open. It was clean. We have spent 36 nights in it and have found no dirt, debris, or sawdust. Nothing blows from the AC or heat ducts, nothing is found on furniture or the floor even after 2000 miles of towing. Not knocking FR as I almost bought and plan on a FR class A in a few years BUT not sending a clean unit should not be acceptable.

Doubt it will happen, not enough market share. The US RV market is unique to the US. No other country builds them the size that is built in the US. FWIW they only build about 350,000 a year in the US and that includes all types of RV's. There are plenty of niches in the market too. There are some well built units out there that fantastically detailed, but they are very small segment of the market.

Most units like yours and mine were clean inside and continue to be. Its not the living area I was talking about its behind things like the microwave or electrical panel and such where construction debris were left.

Actually there is a pretty good market over seas. They are smaller, no tanks (black or grey). If they have a fresh water tank they are very small and if they have a bathroom will be a cassette toilet. They are also much smaller and lighter since they need to be pulled by normal cars as 2500's are not so common around there... LOL

I am still cleaning sawdust out of the light lens in the living/kitchen area and the bedroom.

Pulled a panel in the basement, there is enough sawdust and wood chips there for a nice camp fire.

Found a dozen hex head screws in the front storage area, zip wire ties under the kitchen sink.

I could have rebuilt my trailer with all the junk left behind. I did save all the screws... Never know when I will need another 3" screw to hold a 1/8" panel in place...

But after 2 seasons... I think I finally found most of their stashes they left behind!

Exactly! Expecting the same thing that happened to the US Auto Industry, happen to the US RV industry, is just a pipe dream.

Only possible in the smaller RVs market.
Which wouldn't be worth shipping from the Far East.

This older millennial (born in '81), and prior military and slightly ocd, ordered 2 new 5th wheels in the past 4 years.
Yes both had some scraps, shavings, sawdust and other stuff.....not really a big deal to me! I've got a vacuum and broom. Probably spent more time reading this thread than i spent cleaning or worrying about sawdust and such in it.

Oh and i try to always keep my stuff meticulously detailed and in top notch shape......but my 4, 7, and 14 year olds make it difficult at times. But they are catching on...... hopefully!!

Agreed, I believe they get a final cleaning at the dealership, but the dealer prep guys aren't going to remove all the screwed on panels around to look behind them. Several decades ago I worked the midnight to 7 AM shift at a 7-11 next to the GM plant in Arlington Texas. Every night about 11:30 the parking lot will fill up with guys from the plant coming in to buy beer before we stopped selling it. One night no one came except one guy that bought a cola. I asked what happened to the rest and he said inspectors found empty beer cans inside car fenders and there had been a massive crackdown. I guess we shouldn't complain about some sawdust. I still would buy FR again, and probably will.

we have an 09 Sundance and the same crap everywhere. Last summer i took things apart and spent a day shop vacuuming the wood and sawdust.
no pride in workmanship either for what you pay.
scratches were everywhere in our new 2012 Salem when we got it. 43 deficiencies were noted.
looked like a huge adult sex toy was under the roof membrane

apparently they must feel that this is the situation they all work under....

Actually I just did contact them for this very reason. I wrote an email to the Rockwood contacts with the link to this forum topic and asked them to pass the email around to other divisions in FR. I stated that by and large we are all happy with our units but wondered why this lack of pride in workmanship was allowed. I'll let you know if I receive a comment or call from FR.
