Toilet upgrade possible?
DW and I would like to upgrade the toilet in our 2014 MicroLite 21FBRS from the Dometic 300 unit to the Dometic 320 Series High Profile Ceramic unit. My main concern is whether or not there is sufficient space to install this unit, i.e., space between it and the back wall and the sidewall.

It will work. Get it at PPL Motorhomes for $167 and $9.95 shipping. I have the same trailer and the dometic 300 is junk.

Did you install yours yourself, or have it done?

Going from the 300 to the 310/320 is a breeze. Just remove the flange nuts and water connection. It's all plug and play. Did mine in about 30 minutes.

Thanks for the information. I'm going to order my 320, now that I know it will fit and is a DIY project.

Just one more thing Old Bill. Before you start, make sure city water and pump are off, open water faucets and flush toilet to release any pressure left and place a towel below the toilet water connection. There will be some water dripping while it is disconnected. Dometic provides a very good installation booklet with the toilet, just follow the instructions!

As I have not needed to do this (I'll kick a tree in a bit) would opening a low point drain help any?

I was getting ready to place my order for the 320 and re-read my Dometic manual that came with the TT when I noticed something that has given me pause. The Rough-in dimensions for the 300 model shows the distance from the wall behind the toilet to the center of the hole in the floor to be 8.5", whereas the same spec for the 320 model shows a distance of 11.0"... 2.5" further from the wall. Now the spec for the 310 model (which I don't want) is 8.75", just .25" further from the wall, so I suspect replacing the 300 with the 310 would not require any modifications, but I'm worried about that big 2.5" stretch.
Did you guys who made the upgrade install the 310 or the 320 model? If the 320, how did you get around the 2.5" difference?

I replaced the 300 with the 310. Even though the factory 300 was a close fit, the 310 fit perfectly all around. You are right in that the 320 has a 3" longer top and a 1.25" longer base than the 310. May I ask why you want the 320? The 310 has a porcelain bowl and the swirl-jet bowl rinse just like the 320. You can also get an optional wood seat if you like. The 310 I installed included a hand rinse device. I paid $129 with shipping at Amazon a couple of months ago. We are very happy with the change.

The wood seat was something the DW really wanted, along with a sturdier base, but we were unaware it was an option on the 310. That would make it exactly what we are looking for. Thanks again for the helpful information.

When I had the 2014 FBRS I put in a 320. Actually took it back out and put it in the new 27VRL. Fits in both. On yours you may have to notch where the water line comes out just a bit at the wall. No biggie. It fits closer to the wall and actually gives a slight bit more floor space.
