Tongue Jack has no power

Just returned from a trip with our 29 RSWS. Great trip with no problems. Except that when we got home and went to disconnect the trailer from the truck, the automatic tongue jack had no power. The trailer itself did, as the outside lights still worked, but the jack itself and the LED lights on the jack did not. Any ideas why that would lose power? We ended up manually cranking it.

Is there a fuse in the line for the jack? It may be next to the battery.

Every electric tongue jack I've seen, has an inline fuse.

Yep fused or 12v circuit breaker.

Have you checked at the jack for 12v?

The switch itself sometimes goes bad. Will often go up, but not down, or vice versa. Check the fuse first but if it is good check the switch.

You may have to remove the housing on the jack. My jack has a fuse inside the housing.

I have had more problems with the mounting bolts being very slightly rusted which results in a bad ground. Try loosening the bolts and then resnug them. I had a problem with this on two TT. the only ground is through the mounting bolts.

Is it a Smart Jack? How old? Our brand new one was under recall but hadn't been replaced. Found out the hard way at a CG around 5 in the morning during a heavy rain when the TT started going up and down. Then it just died.

I've had this happen twice now. Mine has an inline mini-fuse in the wire coming from the trailer to the tongue. Both times pulled the fuse, looked fine but would not allow power to the jack. Replaced the fuse both times and the jack worked as usual...go figure...
