Tt design
Anyone know where the holding tanks are located on a V-Lite 21 WRS, likewise a Superlite 26RBSS? Are they in the front, mid, rear of the trailer?
I'm curios about how they will tow when loaded with a full tank of water + gear in the cargo. The dry hitch weights on these looks good at better than 10% UVW, but what happens when you have a full tank of water and cargo in the hold?
I'm thinking that if the holding tanks are located at rear of trailer then you could end up with an unbalanced trailer for towing.
I appreciate your feedback. The wife and I are looking at different TT's and have heard the horror stories about trailer sway problems.

I would call the factory of your concerns(or email). Both gray and black tanks on our Rockwood are located just in front(gray) and over the axles(black). We don't fill up with fresh water until we get to the campground unless water is not available where we are going, most C.G.'s we frequent have water/electric at the site. As far as sway goes, our 28 foot trailer has never had any white knuckle rides. Last year, I installed a second friction sway control just in case we hit big winds across Oklahoma and never experienced any problems. I've heard recommendations of trailers longer than 25' should have 2 sway controls.

We just bought a 28 foot 2005 Cherokee TT and pull it with a half ton 1999 Suburban and do not experience any trailer sway. We have pulled it with the water tanks full and empty no difference. Our fresh water is over the axles and the grey tank and black tank are located behind the axles

The holding tanks won't be far from the dump valves. As for the fresh water, look under the trailer for the fresh water drain, won't be far either. One other clue, (sorry didn't check floor plan), if the bathroom is in front, black tank will be there, directly under the toilet, only way it works. Gray tank is generally near the shower. Kitchen sink may be a little distance, but not far. A front bath, rear kitchen, usually has two gray tanks.

The Grey/Black tanks on the 21 V-Lite are in the front. I believe the fresh tanks are over the axel. I have not used the fresh tanks yet. As far as towing, you won't even know it's back there. It is the best towing unit I have had.

Thanks. The wife and I like the layout of the 21 V-Lite. The V's come with lots of standard features too.
I have a 1/2 ton Chev with 5.3 so limited capacity to tow. What are you towing yours with?

Dodge 2500, but that's because I had a Brookside 302 before this one. I know of another person who bought the V-Lite and pulls it with a Tundra. What is your's rated for?

I would think you should be OK, but very close if you take alot with you. If I remember, the weight on mine is 5,044 + stuff. I would recommend a good hitch, I got the the Equalizer and love it. I had the one with the round bars and they started falling out alot.
As far as the tt goes, I have been very happy with it. We have had zero issues after close to 30 days out camping. I switched to this after having had two Sunny Brooks. I can't find a single complaint. Good luck shopping and I hope you find what best suits you and yor family.

Thanks. The wife and I are going to the RV show at Hershy PA in Sept. I've got my mind pretty well set on the 21WRS V, but I really need to spend some time inside one before making a final decision (and maybe even find a good deal at the show). The local dealers here don't have any of that model on their lots. We did look at a Shamrock that has a similar kind of slide with the king bed and the big couch. It was the most comfortable one I've been in yet, but it doesn't have the big bathroom in the front, like the V-Lite does.
