TV Antenna
On my way to Ohio from New York. Great trip and little hiccup. I can get antenna to go up and down but I can't turn it. Right now it is down and end of it hangs over side. When I try to turn disc it won't turn seems to locked.

You need to rotate the antenna to the stowed position with it raised. Then crank it down.

Look at the mounting above the hand crank. There will be a a pointed section pull down on the turning ring and match the point part on the turning ring to the point section on the mounting plate. That is the stow position for raising or lowering

Mine would not turn a few weeks ago when I was in WV. After much consternation I got out the instructions and found that it was supposed to be lubed. Who would have ever thunk that. Got the silicon spray out, climbed up on top and soaked the bugger. Removed the rubber plug, soaked some more in there and now it is slicker than goose grease. good luck.

If this is what you have follow directions previously posted. See the pointed sections on the ring. Pull down on ring and rotate ring to align fixed pointed section and ring pointed section. This antenna is rotated to the right.

To rotate the antenna...
1. It must be in the cranked up posititon. (not stowed)
2. You need to pull downward on the locking ring (spring loaded) at the ceiling to rotate. It will snap and lock into position when you release the ring.
To stow for travel, align the 'pointers' on the locking ring BEFORE cranking the antenna down against the roof.

I can get antenna to up and down but when fully up I can't get it to rotate when I pull the ring down. It will not turn either way. Sounds like I may need to get on roof when we return from our trip Monday.

When you pull the ring down, can you feel the locking mechanism disengage. I had the locking ring slip on one of my units and needed to be re-tightened.

If this is the standard Winegard Sensar antenna...I've had the crank handle come off a couple times too. It does make a difference how far the handle is up on the hex shaft. If too far up you won't be able to pull the ring down far enough to clear the detents and be able to rotate the antenna. The set screw into that plastic handle needs a gentle touch in tightening or the threads will strip out. The setscrew is probably contacting in the last 1/4" of the shaft

I tried your plan jeff64. I loosened set screw tried tightened a little still nothing. I even stated from scratch when handle and disk came off. Antenna goes up and down no problem but it cannot be turned with disc.

Sometimes when I rotate my TV antenna it gets hung up on my radio antenna. Have you physically looked at your antenna on the roof to see what's going on?

I am still saying, crawl up on the roof and spray/soak the bearing with some silicon.
