It is an interesting product if there is a fire ban or raining providing you don't crank the flame too high. The ceramic logs can be fragile and maybe not easily replace. I keep a set of gloves and a chip brush with it to brush off the soot and rewrap carefully in bubble wrap to keep from breaking when I put it away
