My hitch ball gets a spray of tri flow every time I hitch up. My Equalizer bars don't get anything. I figure it's like the mouthwash commercial that says if it burns it must be working. If the bars protest a little in the campground, they are working. But, out of courtesy, if I'm pulling in at quiet time, I soak the bars with water when I fill the tank at the entrance to the campground. It quiets them a little until I get unhooked.

Over all good experience with the FR Flagstaff . The only thing that broke was the large free standing table in the dinette . The bottom leg came out . It was wobbly and turned it over and the bottom on one side feel off.

Other than that , heater work very good , A/C good a lot of airflow from the ceiling vents . Water heater work well , water pumped work .
The grand kids said "they like it lot better than the small camper "[ pop up]
Are you saying that you drove forward & let the hitch drop to the ground? If so, that is an unnecessary & dangerous step. The draw bar with the ball on it will move, not your tow vehicle.

That was the 1st time we used it . The ball was so tight in the coupler , pulled the pin out of the reciievier and pulled the truck out .
The ball was on the coupling , wiggled it out

Now with following some advice , lube the coupling and ball , raise the TT and stand on the sway bars and ball comes right out

I don't how crazy , we learned a lot hooking and unhooking ,
On unhooking TT , you have to raise the TT off the ball , our fit very snug . I use the power tongue jack raise it to get the weight off the ball
Now we camped 4 times and it gets a lil easier to unhook each time

Each to there own , when I can learn a easier way
I'll adapt to it .

I guess. It depends on the. Weight of your TT

Improvise , adapt and over come Our family motto

Usually if mine sticks I just put the tongue so there is barely any pressure on it and get in the truck, take off parking break, move forward about an inch, set parking brake on and it allows me to raise the TT no problem.

On some hitches, don't know on FR products, there is an adjusting nut under the coupler to tighten or loosen the fit on the ball.

My last two travel trailers were not this way. I think most aftermarket couplers have this feature but not the rv "style"
More often than not you have to "pull" ahead to release ball from coupler.
