Vlite Subwoofer

We have made to trips in V Lite now. The truck is pulling good but I am 95% sure I am going to replace my gears with 3.73. I want to be able maintain 60 mph easier. And I chose 60 to save mpg.

I did finally notice something strange this weekend. My subwoofer is behind a solid cabinet door. The dealer contacted his Flagstaff rep and said that was statusqou for the new VLites. I think I can cut the center panel of the door out and place a deorative mesh over the opening.

Are there any other suggestions?

I have seen some other Forest river brands with the inside area of the cabinet door open, with black nylon (speaker) mesh. However, my feelings are this; It IS called a sub woofer, and therefore is a very low base sound.
Mine sounds good on everything except DVD's. You can adjust the base volume via the remote to make more sound, and just speaking from my son's experience on this subject, you can place a single sub almost anywhere in a vehicle with very good results. Therefore, cutting out the opening should not make a whole lot of difference. I kinda prefer the "stealth" look! It makes the cheap surround speakers sound better than they really are. Randy
