Waiting to look at a Flagstaff ML 23FB

Local dealer has a Flagstaff Micro Lite 23FB on order, I have already contacted them to let me know when it arrives so I can take a look at it.
I have kind of narrowed the search down to this particular model after checking many manufacturers and models out at a local RV show last weekend.
Any pro's / con's I should be aware of? Anything in particular I should pay attention to when looking at this trailer?
This would be our first purchase of any type of trailer / camper and I just want it to be as pain free as possible!
The unit that is coming in is identical to the one advertised here:

Any suggestions / tips would be appreciated.
Tow vehicle would be a 2011 RAM 1500 2dr long bed 2-wheel drive with the 4.7L V8 so towing concerns should not be an issue.

Have you looked for the Rockwood MiniLite twin model?
There are way more Rockwood dealers, than Flagstaff and more competitive prices on the Rockwood.

I would certainly consider the Rockwood series if I could find a local dealer, but the closest at the moment is about 2-hours away.
Really trying to stay with the dealer that is local to me, would much rather drive 5-minutes for service when needed.

Well, finding a local dealer is fine IF the service dept is good too.
Many pay more to buy locally, only to find the local dealer not caring after they made the sale or the service dept is horrible.

We like our Flagstaff ML 25KS. A lot of camper for its length, and weight. Good dealer prep should catch any manufacturer shortcomings. Especially if they know you're coming to visit it!

Being told by the dealer that the 23FB we are waiting to check out was coming off line at the factory yesterday and they are expecting to see it on their lot hopefully by the end of next week.
This trailer is top on my list for what I am looking for in a TT, it fits all my needs as far as length, weight, and has the features I am looking for.
Just hoping when we finally get to see the actual product that it meets or hopefully exceeds my expectations.
My wife (in her head) already has me signing the papers for it and planning out our summer! But she knows I am very nervous about making this purchase seeing how I really know nothing about owning a trailer and all the responsibilities involved that go along with it.
So we shall see what happens when it arrives!

So I locked us in to have first right of refusal on the trailer.
The cost the dealer gave me was right in the area I was expecting to pay.
The MSRP was a little over $25k, my cost (if we decide to get it) would be $19.5k.
From checking pricing on-line I see the same trailer with same specs. selling anywhere from $18.5k to $21.5K, so it seems like a fair price to me.(keep in mind the dealer is 5-minutes from my house so making trips for service work would be very easy... a big plus in my book)
They also offer a *Lifetime* warranty on the trailer, it covers just about everything accept normal wear & tear.. but there is a catch, you have to bring the trailer in for a yearly inspection at a fee of $199..
Still, not that bad of a deal IMO.

skip the Lifetime warranty and get the Second year warranty from Forest river for 150

Most warranty issues show up by the end of 2 years.

But for a difference of $50, I could keep extending the warranty for the life of the trailer.
That seems like the better deal to me.. unless I am missing something..

The lifetime warranties I have seen are expensive, 2k or so and require that you have that yearly 199 inspection. Most people here don't think they are a wise purchase

We did saw the 2016 23LB at the RV show up here in Ottawa and we've fell in love with it. Loved it so much we traded in our Jayco Hybrid for it! after few years in a hybrid (which we really enjoyed) and with the family expending to 4 of us we decided to make the move. I did not camp with it yet and that probably wont happen for the next couple of months but I can tell you that that after seeing bunch of different trailers the 23LB answered all our needs. Nice practical layout, not too big, not to heavy seemed well assembled, lots of storage, lots of goodies option included, and coming from a hybrid A TRUE QUEEN BED!!!!. Can't wait for our spring! Keep us posted with your decision.

Dealer called to tell me the trailer just arrived.
My wife & I have a appointment for Saturday morning to go take a look at it.

(I just took a random pic at one that was delivered to them, they had a bunch come in so not really sure which one it really is!)

We have a 2016, 23LB. Same size with a different floor plan. We really like ours so far after one season of camping. Your $19.5k seems a little high to me, but that is only my opinion. We bought ours at Keystone RV in Pennsylvania.They have a 23FB on their site now listed for $17,999. I'm in no way affiliated with them, I just wanted to give you something to compare prices.
And like others, I would steer clear of the added cost of warranties. If you're a DIY'er then after the 2nd year you could most likely do a lot of repairs yourself if needed.

I am certainly going to use the price they gave me as a starting point for negotiations if we decide we want to purchase the trailer .
As far as being a DIY type, I am probably better off paying for a warranty then me fixing anything, it will probably cost me less in the long run!
