Another great place to overnight on the road are the Flying J truckstops. Great facilities, dedicated parking and (usually) really nice people. I am sorry to report though, that Flying J has been bought out by the Pilot company. Really bums me out, cause the flying J's were great and they're changing them. But I did receive a letter today from the Pilot company saying they are going to be putting more rv friendly facilities in their truck stops as well.

When we travel in tandem with another family we will also look for Cracker Barrell restaurants. There is usually ample parking for three or four rigs behind the Cracker Barrells. I won't stay there if we are alone because the area behind the restaurants are usually away from traffic and not as well lit as the area in front. We only stay in Wal Marts if our stop is relatively short or if we can't find a campground. The biggest reasons are safety and the noise level around a lot of Wal Marts. Of course the standard joke is an RV'er is someone in a $400,000 motorhome looking for a free place to park.
