WaterPur filter change

After four nights of camping over the Easter weekend I decided to change the water filter. Did some Internet research and read complaints of difficult locations and hardships of removing the clear plastic canister.

So today- I knew where the filter was located, (mine is in the storage area) and accessed through the outside storage bay door. I removed the flimsy divider wall,......was ready for the fight.....reached up with my strong hand......gripped it tight.....and guess what ? It turned and came off without to much effort! Lol

Removed the filter and placed the canister back on. I will try to grab a filter at Lowes, HD, or Wal- Mart as suggested on hundreds of posts.

If I can find a good replacement filter, this job really is a do it yourself project with low difficulty rating!

Glad you had no issues. Usually if one of the faucets is opened prior to trying to remove the cannister, it comes off fairly easy. Rain Fresh CF2 carbon filters work great in these units.

Any additional brand names/filter numbers that fit this unit? I am having a VERY difficult time locating a replacement filter. Dealer is less that willing to order one. I will try Lowes and Ace hardware for the above stated filters. Also need the canister O-ring. I called WaterPur in Florida. They immediately, upon learning it related to an RV, refered me to Forest River (without even knowing my trailer brand). The WaterPur Company states their filters do not fit the Forest River canister. Strange response from WaterPur!

My trailer's OEM water filter is a Water Pur CCI-10-CLW Clear Water Filter Housing and uses a CCI-10-C filter. Everything in standard 10" length will work in that housing. What you want is a low micron cyst filter with as high a flow (in GPM) as you can get. I've bought the F1 model from this place before... http://www.rvwaterfilterstore.com/RCCarbonCartridge.htm
