Weber Q1000

We recently bought the Weber Q1000 to use rather than the RVQ which came with the TT. It's fantastic!!! I went to Camping World and bought a propane hose for a 20lbs tank. Tried several ways to get to work but to no avail. Alas, I read the direction (who does). The directions were no different to what I did and it's still didn't work. I did notice a few warnings on the package which concerned me a tad. I will start off with the front on the package:

I drove over to the local Home Depot and found it cheaper and it's the Weber brand. Hooked it up (like before) and it worked like a charm. This one is getting returned to CW and I will bring the warning to their attention.
I guess in any other state except California, this thing is safe to handle.

Webers are high pressure, RV is low pressure. You will have too come off the propane tank before the rv regulator.

I have a small propane tank just for the grill. I read up on the two regulator issues for these small high pressure jobs. The small tank works great but I keep a few smaller disposables just in case.

Here is our grill. Great for two. Change out the surface to a full grill and it's good for a bunch of happy campers.

we have an older weber Q - the first one that came out and it's still going strong! we have the folding stand (very helpful!) a griddle (nice for bacon!) and the hose for a 20# tank vs the smaller ones. It's awesome!!!

Gotta thank my sister and her friend for turning us on to this grill. It cooks better than my big ol' grill at home. Easy to clean too. Store it in the bed of the truck to keep the after smells (grease) aft and out of the camper. Put it on our fold out table and under our easy up. Picnic table comes in handy for those not so full set up moments.

The funny thing is...my son bought a Coachman pop-up last year, and it came with that grill, but I don't know if it was a dealer incentive or Forest Rivers. He loves it, and it does run off his built in propane line. It must be Y'd off before his regulator. He loves it.

We love the Weber so much that when my home grill failed, I bought a second and run it off a 20lb tank. I also have a small 5lb (1 gal) tank that stays in the MH.

Notice that Target has this grill on sale for $169.99. Does anyone know if the griddle always comes with this grill? We are in need of a grill and this one looks like its a good one.

I known the Q1000 did not come with the griddle. Found mine at camping world. It was a little higher price but cheaper than paying freight. There is one griddle per package. If you want both side you have to buy two. Haven't tried it yet but will let you know how it works.

I bought a LP hose from CW to use in my Q200 Weber grill. The fitting that hooks to the grill was to long and would not allow the needle in side to release the LP. As I had people coming for a cook out and no way to cook I ground the fitting down just a little and now it works. I didn't have a file so I used the cement patio.

I also bought the hose form CW and it did not work on my Q1000. I returned it and bought the Weber hose from Home Depot.

My one complaint about this grill is how hard it is to clean. At home, I turn the big Weber grill on Nuke (+700) after I am done cooking. After 10-15 minutes, come back and brush the ashes off the grates. It's ready for the next time I want to grill.

I run this grill off the little green bottles and it never gets hot enough to make ashes. When I return home, I power wash the grill and toss the grate in the home grill and go through my Nuke process with it.

It is a nice grill, just hard for me to clean. What am I doing wrong?

we've been using a Weber-Q 200 for around 10 years now. It's a great grill.
we got a Mr Heater Stay-A-While and connect it to our 30lbs tanks on the tongue. It works great because it's pre-regulator on the camper.

Not sure if they are still set up like this, but they used to be made for the skinny Bernz-o-matic tanks. out first outing (still tenting) with it, and the tank was empty after only a few meals. I didn't have another tank like that, and figured out you could remove a screw and bend the tank holder to fit a 1lb Coleman tank that I did have extras of. shortly after that we got one of these 20lbs tank hoses, but got tired of bringing an extra tank when we have 2x 30lbs tanks with us.

I leave the grill on a several minutes after using it to cook off the crud. Then brush it off with a stainless steel wire brush. When we get home you can either put them in the dish washer or clean with the wire brush and dish soap. Gets em squeaky clean. Take the gas tube out (one screw) and wash out the inside if the grill and it's back to clean again. It's a little work but keeps it clean.
