What G.P.S to use with a 8528 RKWS 5th wheel?

We purchased a Flagstaff 8528 RKWS 5th wheel in April and with a height of 13 ft. what G.P.S. units are you using or recommend. Thanks.

Just out of curiosity where did you get the 13 foot number?

I just looked up your model and it shows 12'4" which is normally standard.

The Rand Mcnally RVND 7710 just went on sale. HUGE discount on these now as full price on them was 400 bucks this spring. This is a large 7" gps from the trucking industry that has been updated specifically for the RV rigs.

Thanks for the reply joelek. we purchased that 7710 from camping world for $224.00 and put in several address to compare with our garmin but both times there was a 45 mile difference. plus it weighed 4 lbs. also it came with a wall charger and it did not work so we are looking again.
thanks ted

Let us know which one you like Ted. I love Garmin Nuvi models but would not use one of those for RV use. My Nuvi took my car on shortcuts that the RV would not want to be on. I like wide open spaces when towing the RV.

The 7710 was adapted from trucker GPS. I imagine shortest route for a semi is not a good idea so it defaults to safe route which many times is longer.
