I cover the ball with an 8oz foam cup, that I strengthen with gorilla tape. I keep it on the ball, whenever it’s not hitch up. No more grease on the pants/shorts.

I stow the bars in a soft rifle case. I stow the hitch on the shelf grid behind the propane tanks.

I usually do throw a plastic cup over the ball. Of course, I didn't bother last time and ended up greasing up new shorts. Oh, btw, as horrible as that grease is, wife rubbed Dawn into the greasy area, and back home she noticed a lot of the grease was breaking up, then Shout and washed, Shout again with a little brush action, and it did come out. That grease is evil. I guess anything made to withstand thousands of degrees is.

Perhaps this will help someone. I have a receiver attacked under the side of the trailer frame under the battery and lock the hitch into that when not in use. And the bars rest on top of the battery and are locked into place.....sorry but the pictures are sideways.

I found this solution which works very well, when TT is not hooked up. This rack sits between the battery compartment and trailer wall. I can even store the sway-control device in there. When you put the hitch in, lock it and you cannot remove any of the towing devices.
