Will my Toyota Tundra tow it?

I'm sorry to all the veterans of both trailering and forums, for another one of these threads.

I have a 2002 Toyota Tundra, 4.7 liter V8. Max towing capacity is 7,100 pounds.

I'm interested in the Micro Lite 23LB with a GVWR of 4718 lbs.

Will my Tundra be able to tow it decently? Thanks in advance!

I had 02 DC with 4,7 and a TT with dry weight of 4400. Guess around 5200 loaded. Was OK on flat ground with no head wind. High head wind in new Mexico one trip held me down to 40 mph max for a couple hours. Also lots of sway when big this or buses passed. Even with anti sway bar.

Do you think with a Hensley hitch it would be a lot more manageable?

I think a Hensley would be over kill. That is a light trailer and only 23 feet. Something like the fastway E2 or the equalizer 4 way would work.

The 23lb has a dry weight of 3850lbs. Your truck will pull it with ease. Get the original 4 way equalizer distribution hitch with built in sway control and you'll be good to go. Keep the overdrive button off.

Yes the Hensley hitch will fix the problem. They have the Hensley cub for small trailers. 25 feet max and 5000 pounds Was 1200 when I bought mine. Not sure on the price now. Great hitch.

I have a 2006 Toyota Sequoia, 4.7 Limited and tow a 2015 Surveyor 225RBS with a dry weight of about 4300# with Equalizer load leveler with anti-sway bars, just returned from a 4000 mile Canyon lands area 29 day trip. No problems at all with sway or major lose of MPH except when fighting the wind south of Moab. Got 8-11 MPG most of the time.....fyi

I recommend the Reese Straight Line hitch. I tow a 27hfs with a rzr 800 (8000+ dry) with my 12 Tundra and it handles great with no sway.

I have a 2000 Tundra with same engine and tow a 21' Minilight. While it tows ok I don't think I would want to tow anything larger. Mine has only a 350lb tounge weight, the suspension is horrible on the Tundra and no cheap improvements. A weight hitch may help enough but your most likely looking to get air bags or the rear will be sagging alot!

A weight distribution hitch will solve your problems. I pull my 21fbrs with my 2000 tundra with 250k miles on it with no problem and I also pull it will My 2015 tacoma 4x4. Both pull it about the same.
