12 volt lights

I have a 2015 Rockwood 2703ws. My wife and I love the trailer so far. I do have one problem, my wife cannot reach the lights in the bedroom. She is not real tall. My question is how does the wiring run in my trailer and how could I install a light on the wall between the bedroom and bathroom?

Is this for a quick light at night while going to the restroom? The quickest, most simple solution for light is one of those stick on battery operated 'tap' lights. They come in lots of styles and because of LED bulbs can last a long time.

If you really want to use the big lights there are some 12 volt remote control systems available. You can mount the switch wherever you want.

Where have you seen these remote switches? that sounds like an easy fix.

I have several in my camper. Only issue is that the control unit that hooks to the light or lights is about 2.5 inches, by 1 inch, by 5 or 6 inches long and needs to be mounted in the ceiling above the light or somewhere where it can intercept the wires going to the light. If the size is a problem I'm sure there are smaller ones. I got mine at www.solidapollo.com When I get back to a computer tonight I'll dig up some more information.

Thanks Evereddie, I decided to wire one in . It wasn't to hard. I was just very careful drilling holes in the walls.

I would be interested in the details of this as we have a the flagstaff version of the same trailer. We love the trailer but if I could ask them to change one thing that's it.

Canadiancrew, I drilled a hole through the bedroom wall into the bathroom wall that has the light switch. I removed the light switch from the wall to expose the 12volt wires. I ran a heavy wire from the bedroom wall down into the bathroom wall and down to the hole left by the switch. I used the heavy wire to pull 2 wires into the bedroom. I connected the wires to the positive and negative at the switch. I purchased a 12volt light with an on/off switch. I wired it up and mounted it on the wall. Hope this helps, total cost approx. $12.
