12 volt outlet on 2010 Rockwood

I recently purchased a used 2010 Rockwood 2701SS Ultra Lite. I have looked every where and can't find a 12 volt outlet in the trailer. We dry camp and rely on the 12 volt for everything. I use a 200 watt inverter to charge cell phones, etc.

Am I not looking in the right place or was this not a standard feature in 2010?

There were none in our 2011 Rockwood 1809S - picked one up at a electronics store. In our setup the fresh water pump was close by so that is where I tapped into the 12Volt wiring. Very easy the female receptacle has the positive & negative sides marked.

If there is one, it's likely very close to where the television mount / cable TV connection is.

etrailer has an awesome one that is a stick on with an LED light. We bought it and used that as a night light for the kids.

We tapped the LP detector line and it was perfect.

I think a great spot would be to tap the line coming in to the 12 volt lighting over the Sink. drill a small hole, chase the wires through and tap the line going to the light. It comes with mounting screws too....

That is where mine is in a 2012 Rockwood 2109S. I am thinking about mounting two more were the night stands next to bed are. Currently there are AC outlets there but since we dry camp a lot I like to use my iPhone as a clock/alarm, so a dc outlet would be convenient there.

s stated a 12 volt plug is not common item installed by the factory .
if you have a concertone with usb most things can be charged there .
you could add them close to the convertor altho it may not be convenient its close to 12 volt power.
otherwise all the lights in the trailer are 12 volt you could access power from one of those as well .

I looked at my controller panel this weekend. It has many empty DC fuseholders that could be populated with a fuse, and a wire connected to its terminal & DC wires run to anywhere I wanted it.

Look to see if yours is similarly outfitted - would provide a dedicated circuit and protection to boot!

the only problem using the converter center is your limited to close proximity of it.
since fishing wires through the camper isn't easy .
thats why I recommended using the power from a light and mounting the 12 volt outlet close by .

My DH just installed one this past weekend in the outside kitchen. He plans to use it for his portable pump to replenish the water when we run out. Took him less than a half hour start to finish.
