15" tire upgrade

Have a 2012 Rockwood fifth wheel 8288ws with 15" tires. Be possible to upgrade to 16" tires? Thanks.

15" tire upgrade

If you have clearance then yes. There are E rated 15” tires available. I have a friend that runs 15” E rated Maxxis tires year after year with no problems.

15" tires

I want to upgrade the size because a camping buddy of mine has a longer and heavier trailer and it tows better with the 16" tires. Be cheaper than buying a new trailer, but there is nothing out there we like.

Then depending on brand, you could go from a 28 1/2” tall 15” to a 31” tall 16” tire. I’ve had trailers with 2” clearance without problems.

What brand, size and load range tires do you currently have on your trailer?

Larger diameter tires isn't the only factor in "Towing better."

15" and 16" tires are incredibly small. I think I have a bigger tire than that on my wheelbarrow. It will be dangerous and I doubt you could even find an accommodating wheel that mounts to your axles!

Have you checked YOUR tires? My Mini Lite has ST205/75R14, i.e., 14" tires. I'd be surprised if FR has increased them to 16" or better.

I have! Like you, I have 26" tires. I couldn't imagine running 15 or 16" tires.

I'm guessing we are being told in a 'tongue & cheek' way the OP should have possibly stated wheels and not tires when discussing 15" & 16"

Don't know about anyone else, but I want to see a picture of this wheelbarrow with tires bigger than a ST205/75R14.

I think you're right. Only place I've seen "tires" discussed vs "wheels" is on car forums; I suspect "most" of us assumed he meant wheels.
