2011 2306 Minilite - Jensen AWM975 Install

I have a 2011 2306 and purchased the Jensen AWM975

The electrical connections were straight forward - I printed off both wiring diagrams and wrote down the color conversions so it would be easy to wire up.

I got it wired up but get zero radio signal due to the antenna connection not plugging into the back of the radio -
after looking at the back of the radio - it seems I was trying to plug the antenna into the Coax input connector and not the antenna hole which would make perfect sense why I didn't get any signal

I am in the process of adding a wooden frame around the radio to give it more room in the rear of the radio since the ZX75 was a shallow radio.

I couldn't believe when I pulled out the ZX75 the rubber around the radio felt gummy which was weird and the reason why I am replacing the radio is because the ZX76 would only power on with the remote and not the power button.

When I am done with the install I will post pictures and what materials I used for my install.

So far I have used Blue Butt splices to join the wires together.
Bought the wood from Home Depot but have not cut them as of yet - hoping to get that done today.

I had to rewire my radio to use the roof antenna. The antenna from the factory was just a wire coiled up behind the radio. Now it works great!

Post some pics when your done with your mod.

progress is being made

Got the frame made for the radio - its a tight fit which is good but almost too tight as where it will have to be screwed to the wall instead of bolted like I was originally planning on doing

still need to stain the wood and modify the original opening where the ZX75 was which may or may not get done today cause I may have to work today since I am on call

This looks like a time consuming project but will be worth it when complete. Looks great so far! If our genesis 2.0 ever gives up and croaks i would consider a jensen. Does it work off 12volt also?

Thanks
It wasn't too bad as far as time
I probably have about 3 or 4 hours in it including going to home depot and getting the wood and screws and opening the hole where the old radio was - I still need to add a small piece of wood to the left side and stain it and it will be complete

It does work off of 12 volts.

I could have gotten a genesis but I wanted the weather radio portion and I know jensen has been doing radios for ever where genesis is still concertone
