2012 Windjammer 3008 - The Dreaded Crack

We've discovered a crack on the exterior wall above the bedroom door on our Windjammer. Has anyone had any luck getting FR to repair the dreaded crack, after the initial warranty has expired?

Anyone know if Doug Fought and Gregg Rollins are still the warranty contacts? Yes I know their names already unfortunately, as this is not the first issue we have had with our unit. It had to go to back to the factory when we first bought it for a slide issue. Have sent 3 emails to both Doug and Gregg since last week, and not one reply so far from either of them...

We had a 2012 3008W that we purchased in May 2011. The summer of 2013 we discovered the crack above the super slide. We were out of warranty but Forest River stood behind it and fixed it at no charge. I no longer have the Jammer as we went the fifth wheel route but I believe Doug is in another position. I never dealt with Gregg.

Good luck!

Thanks Randy. You are right, Doug, is still with the company but in a different position. I actually just got off the phone with Jake Carter from FR, and FR is going to come pick up our unit and take it back for the repairs at their expense next month. We've had several issues with our unit over the 5 seasons we have had it, but it's good to know that FR is at least standing behind their product and doing right by their customers. For that, I am grateful...

kampk; glad to hear Forest River is standing behind you on this. I had to take my trailer to my original dealer and they picked it up and redelivered it there. I had to remove the license plate and the L-brackets for the Equalizer hitch at the dealer so the transport company could pick up. We did have one issue when we got the trailer back. Since they had to remove the off-door side wall and get into some of the plumbing connections--my water pump didn't work when it came back. FR had the dealer replace it at not cost to me. Good luck!

It's really good to see Forest River standing behind you and fixing the problem. I am picking up our 14 Windjammer 3006w on Wednesday and kind of concerned about these cracks after reading some of the threads on the forum.

Keeping fingers crossed but it's great to know that they are standing behind their product and looking after their customers.

I've got a 2012 3001W and just noticed a crack above both doors. From the multiple people experiencing this on WindJammers, it seems they may have a design flaw. Do you by chance have Jake Carter's contact info that you would mind sharing?

Just wanted to post an update in case anyone else experiences these cracks...Forest River was awesome. I just picked it up from the factory where they replaced the entire exterior wall. Yes, it's a 2012 and they still fixed it for free.

They were going up from a corner on each of the two doors. They said my frame lost camber, causing the cracks. They repaired the frame also.Click image for larger version
