2014 3008 windjammer
My brother in law has this trailer and he discovered he had a leaking bypass valve on his hot water tank. Does anybody have a clue how to access the valve to replace it? Looks like we need to remove the tank itself or maybe the oven to get to it! Talk about a design flaw. Plastic valves and you cant get to them. Maybe I'm just not seeing it. Thanks for any help.

Bgarbo, without knowing the area you are describing it is hard to help. For help from someone that actually has the same or similar trailer, you need to post the year of manufacture, maker and floor plan of the trailer for the forum. Any other information is helpful, such as a photo or two showing the area.
To get to my leak at the bypass valve on my 2014 Rockwood Windjammer 3001w, I only had to remove two screws that hold a panel up between the waste basket cabinet and the back of the water heater. Then I can get to the hoses. From what I read on this forum, that is about as easy as it gets. RVs use PEX tubing for water lines as it is strong and flexible to an extent. Any big box hardware store will have the PEX connectors you need to repair the leak. See if they have someone there that can help you select the best repair for your situation.

On my Roo 19, I replaced two of these metal pieces of junk with plastic valves. So I don't know what you're going to use.

Howdy, Its a 2014 diamond edition. I have a 8315BSS and changed all 3 valves no problems at all. I sure wish I could see the panel your talking about. I have the PEX tubing [1/2"] the tools and the valves ready to go. If we pull a drawer out we can see the valves but its all I can do to reach them to turn them off. Thanks for the reply.

Is his trailer the 8315BSS? Or is that yours?
I attached the floor plan from mine and a photo of the sink area. Just under the sink (and DW's purse) is a cabinet door for the waste basket. If I take out the waste basket there is a plywood panel separator that I can remove easily which give me access to the plumbing and back of the water heater. Looking at photos of a 8315BSS it looks like you might be the same...if it is the one we are talking about.

Howdy, I have the 8315BSS. It is as you say, to access the valves, pretty darn easy. His on the other hand, He has the 3008w Diamond edition 2014.

Okay, that is going to be interesting getting to the water heater. Have you tried pulling out the drawer below the range? Might be able to crawl/reach the pipes from there. If not, l'll bet you have to pull the stove out, which is another issue altogether. Dang it isn't going to be easy either way. Have you called FR for guidance?

There are access panels under the bar that could give you enough room for a repair. Also, remove the drawers at the bar for additional room.
Good luck.
