2014 8281ss

Hello forum members I am a longtime learker, now member. I was wondering why Forest river didn't put the 8281SS on their website? I am due to take delivery on that unit soon and wanted to learn a few details of it. Thanks in advance

I got my 2013 8281ss in Decmber of 2012 and I was told by one dealer that they will be discontinuing that model in favor of the 8281ws, but the 8281ss could still be ordered. The dealer I got mine from had plenty in stock and they are planning on getting more, as a mater of fact I just went to thier website and they had several 8281ss in stock... I have had mine out several times and I love it!!!

I will help you with any questions you may have.

And WELCOME!!!!

Yes it works great. Takes a little getting used to hooking up, but once you do it a couple of times I found it to be easy. What dealer are you getting your 5w from? I see you are in NY, not that far from me.. I got mine from Albany RV. OK experience. Had the best price. They also installed my hitch.

You have to be almost dead straight on when backing up, so that the wedge goes in to place. I put a piece of tape on my hitch so when I am backing up I can see it easier in my truck where the pin will go. If you can understand what I am trying to say. If not I can take a picture of it. That will explain it better.

Did they install the pin box thing that makes it turn?

The Reese revolution was already on the camper they just activated it by removing the locking bolts and putting the wedge on the front, so that it won't pivot at the hitch in the truck. That is the part that has to be lined up staight when hooking up.

Yeah we took a short trip this weekend. Just to see how or what we would need. I am amazed at the amount of storage this unit has.
