2016 8329ss Bouncing/shaking

Just got our new 8329ss. As far as we can tell, we have it level, but it bounces and shakes. When we walk past the refrigerator, the TV bounces. If someone turns over in the bed, the far end of the trailer moves. Does any one else have this problem? What can we do to make the trailer not bounce and shake?

I installed the steadyfast system from Hansom Industries http://www.steadyfast.com it takes 45 seconds to install after I set the camper in place. It eliminates 75-80% of the bounce.

Buy the wheel locks that go between the trailers wheels.

I downsized from a class A to my TT and the bouncing and shaking drove me nuts. I solved the problem by getting X-chocks for both sides and installing the steady fast system and now my trailer is rock solid.

Using stabilizers in front of the axles is about the only thing that really works. I use the X chocks they stop the rocking back and forth but you still feel it move up and down without something in front of axles. You can use the camco stabilizer stands for temporary use or permanently mount scissor jacks to the frame. The latter is much better, they have a longer reach and don't have to crawl under unit each time.

I had a bit of a bounce in my TT until we up graded our tires to a more solid heavy duty tire with a nice firm side wall. The factory tires have more bounce even with the x-chucks that we use as well.

That's just what we experienced.

My TT came with scissors jacks at each corner but there was still some noticeable "bounce". Mounted two more in front of the forward axle and now I don't feel any movement at all. All the jacks have 12x12" "wall scuff" pads permanently attached. I use a Makita drill to lower them. I have the torque release on the drill set at about thirty foot pounds so all the jacks have the same pressure when extended. The added scissor jacks are 7,500 pound strength and about $70 from Amazon.

I have an 8327ss that I had the same problem with. This is the first year we have had it. It has the factory electric stabilizers on the front and rear. I use X-Chocks every time I unhook also. The bounce was getting to me after a couple months. I put scissor jacks in from of the steps on the door side and at the same spot on the other side. It is about in the middle of the trailer. The ones I bought were on Amazon. 7500lb 30" jacks. After I put them on I jacked it up. After I jacked it up I realized I took all the weight off the front stabilizer and front jack. I was amazed at how much weight they would take. After lowering the scissor jacks to equally distribute weight back on the front stabilizers and jack I went into he trailer. It was solid as a rock. Didn't move when going up and down the stairs or moving around the trailer. The trailer is on concrete in my driveway and I have not tested this on wood blocks at a grass campsite. I am very impressed so far.

To install I drilled 4 - 5/16" holes into the bottom of the frame rail on each side and used 8 - 5/16" X 1 1/4" bolts with flat and lock washers. Took about an hour.
