2016 Windjammer 3029w

I am considering upgrading from a 2014 Windjammer 2618 to a 2016 Windjammer 3029w. Does anyone have experience with this model and would like to share their opinion of it?

We purchased a 2015 3029w a little over a year ago. We absolutely love this model and have had nothing but positive experiences being a Forest River owner.

We Love It

We own a 2016 Windjammer 3029W with the Diamond Package and we absolutely love it. The Diamond Package really adds some nice touches to an already incredible travel trailer. Our unit came with absolutely zero defects. We have towed it several hundred miles and have been in it every weekend since we bought it in July, including two week-long trips. It pulls very well and is very comfortable to live and sleep in.

We came from a 33' bunkhouse and I was worried about where I would put everything that I was able to store in our old trailer. I thought there wasn't as much storage in the Windjammer, but I was wrong -- we ended up with storage space to spare.

The living area is the most comfortable and well thought out living area I have ever seen in an RV. You can actually watch the TV from any seat in there. The size and number of windows is amazing -- it almost feels like a chore to raise or lower all of the blinds.

I could just go on and on about our Windjammer 3029W, so I will stop here to leave room for comments from other happy owners.

We just purchased a month ago a windjammer 3029W and we love it. Just took it to cayucos for our maiden voyage and couldn't get over how comfortable this trailer is. We love being able to sit in the recliners and watch the tv and have room for guests to come inside to hang out. Our previous trailer was a 24' with 1
slide out so this trailer is massive compared to that. We had a few issues with the rv technologies panel and getting the tv and DVDs player to use the surround sound but after a bit we figured it out. I do agree that the shades are a bit difficult to move up and down but that is something minor. We are going back out in a few weeks so hopefully all continues to go well.

nomad and 2sparkys...Assuming the issue you mention involves the day/night shades, I found mine were just a little too tight as installed at the factory. This caused the cords on a few of the windows to fray from use. When re-stringing the first one which we broke, I realized I could just adjust all of them to loosen the tension enough to make them much easier to work. It is actually pretty easy to do. After doing so, we've had no further problems now for the past two summers.

Thanks Vern for the tip. We will try to adjust them.

You will love it.
We have it's sister in a V-Lite Diamond.
Couldn't be happier with Forest River.

In a previous thread here:

http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...irs-64641.html

we discussed the "de-stressing" or loosening of the strings on the day/night shades.

I see this was just last year...so my earlier statement that it was two years ago says something about my memory.

2016 Windjammer 3029w

We got our 3029 in August and agree with the others - it is fantastic. Our is a platinum version - white not tan. We have camped at the beach for 4 nights and in the mountains for 4 nights. Had a huge downpour at the beach and nary a leak. Was a little worried as we did not get the slide toppers - but no issues. We also were concerned about storage but found we can fit almost everything. Only thing we now don't put in the trailer is our zero gravity chairs. Too big for a storage area so they go in the back of the suburban. I had a 4 hour walk through at RV Wholesalers and found a few minor issues that were fixed there and one issue I fixed the next day (plugged in electric cord for hot water heater). Only 2 issues since then 1) TV won't play through the iRV surround sound system. I think they did not plug it in so will be checking this next weekend. 2) couch slides down when slide comes in. Dealer was unable to resolve. Minor annoyance but doesn't cause any problems. That's it. Very impressed with the quality so far. Layout has been great. Have had friends over and very comfortable for visits. Love the front closet. I use the bedroom as an office to work while on trips - there is room for a small table and chair. The trailer pulls great. Had it through mountains in WVA with no issues. Bought the equalizer wd hitch and it works great for this trailer. Very happy camper.
