First time buyer , long time camper, with a 2.5 and 1.5 year old. Going to look at a 2017 2504s rockwood, anyone have any insight or experience with this camper? Dealer has it listed for 17,900

I have a 2015 2504s. mostly just the wife and the dog, sometimes another couple. At the time we liked this model best but the models with the outdoor kitchen weren't available then. Plenty of storage. Only one major issue that I had to fix myself, when the slide was retracted water would enter when driving in the rain because the seal wasn't making contact with the bottom of the slide. have made numerous mods: added a fireplace, installed ems under bunk, added pull-out shelves to pantry, made a magazine rack, added a piece of mounting track so the portable "table" can be used a counter extension, added digital thermostat, added blue streak toilet treatment system, bought a 3-burner stove from someone parting out a pop-up that can mount to the outside rail, removed water filter, added clear window with blind to entry door and i'm sure a few others I can't recall at the moment.

Thanks! I hook my sink to the outside shower so it has hot water (the faucet that comes with table only has 1 handle so you have to set the temp you want with the shower control unless you just want cold water). I would take it out in the rain asap to see if water comes in under the slide (you most likely won't see it until the slide is extended because the carpet traps it ) so it can be fixed under warranty if you have one. My warranty had expired when it happened to me and they wouldn't fix it even though it had come from the factory that way. At the vary least retract the slide and see if the wiper seal is making contact with the bottom of the slide. Mine had like a 1/4" gap when retracted.

Congratulations on your new camper! We have a 2016 2504s and love it. I also had water coming in the slide when driving in the rain. I got the wiper seal fixed and put in flashing to stop the leak. Our grandkids love the bunks and they are wider than most,so in your case, the kids can get bigger before you need to trade. I have done a lot mods, you will too. Jay

We just bought a used 2015 2504s and after retracting the slide, we could see daylight from outside coming under the bottom edges of the slide on both sides. We have a warranty. Should we take it in for CW to fix or fix it ourselves?

Never mind. I now see that you already bought it. Enjoy.
