2017 Mini Lite roof issues?

Our new 2017 Rockwood Mini Lite 2506S may or may not have some roof issues. I've attached a few photos that show some bubbling on the front and rear. What has been your experience and what should I expect if and when it goes back to the dealer? Our old trailer (2015 Wildwood) doesn't have any of these on the roof. Normal? or....

I'm aware of the tape and would consider using it, but this TT is 3 weeks old. I emailed FR and no response this past week.

i'd say the factory has messed up........or there has been a repair that they are not telling you about.
if they refuse to help...that tape mentioned and a good cleaning along the seam with denatured alcohol [humco] will do the trick.

I would be contacting the dealer/salesman with documented photos. Its a brand new trailer, the membrane should not be bubbled like that.

With the rubber membrane, taping on top of the area is not going to aid the membrane bonding to the surface or keep it from lifting further based on the area shown in the photos.

I am surprised Forest River has not responded. I have emailed them questions and have a response typically within 24hrs. You could also call them and speak to someone directly, discuss your concern and then email them your photos. Then you have a point of contact.

Got a response that it appears to be a non-issue at this time. I'll keep an eye on it throughout this summer and see if it spreads.

2017 Mini Lite roof issues?

I have a 2016 Mini Lite 2502KS and roof looks just like yours, I don't think it is an issue, just cosmetic.

That is very minor and well with in spec for a fully adhered roof. I am an industrial/commercial roofer by trade. You will always get a few minor wrinkles and bubbles in a "glued" down roof. You are allowed so many square inches of bubbles per 100 sf. Just keep an eye on it, if it starts to spread you may have an issue.

There are lots of things that can cause the bubble; moisture in the air, not quite enough glue, too much glue, minor debris on the roof, a minor chemical spot on the membrane, etc.

As a former manufacturer familiar with laminating, these QC issues are avoidable.

Big difference between laminating and fully adhering a rubber roof. Also you have to remember that the bulk of the people working in the RV assembly industry ARE NOT craftsmen, many are paid by piece work and there is minimal quality control.

I'm sure that the issue could be avoided at the time of manufacture. Kinda like my truck...I think it's been in the shop more for recalls and repairs that it's been on the road. 4 recalls and 3 repairs in 4K.
