I have an Dog Bone 30 Amp EMS and bought the adapters for 50 and 30 Amps. Just in case the campground provides 1 single outlet type. Used to have 50 Amp and changed to 30 Amps for one reason. While you get protection passed 50 Amps, the TT is a 30 Amp circuit. So if a 50 Amp is installed and spikes over 30 Amps the 50 Amp will let through the spike. So I placed my 50 Amp on my 50 Amp 220V Generator for my house and bought a 30 Amp for the camper

The way I see it... if you have an appliance that uses a 30 Amp Circuit Breaker, anything that spikes over 30 will trip it. If the breaker is over 30, let us say 50, it will not trip it if the spike goes between 30 and 50. Anything over 30 Amps will "fry" the circuit.

It happened to us with an AC when I was a kid. Caught on fire. Instead of a 15 Amp dual Breaker, the installer used a dual 30 Amp. Did not tripped the breaker. Scarry to see a window unit AC sparking and burning while sleeping; the burning plastic woke me up.
