2020 Mini Lite 2014s Hitch Height

Hi, all. I pick up the trailer on Friday and I'm trying to get a rough estimate on what height the top of the ball needs to be on the WD hitch. Close enough to get me home safely is all I'm looking for. About a 35 mile drive home from the dealer. I can get it ironed out better when I get home.

Yes, I've searched, but to no avail. Thanks in advance.

That's not a service your dealer offers?

If I were buying the hitch from them, yes. Otherwise I'm on my own and I have my own WD hitch. At least to the best of my knowledge.

I think a good dealer would perform the service regardless of whether or not you bought the hitch from them. All in the interest of safety and goodwill.

What are you going to do when you get home that you can't do at the dealer?

Get a couple of wrenches and move the head to where you need to at the dealer. As mentioned above, a good dealer should be more than happy to do it for you.

When all is said and done, I think it's still going to depend on your particular WDH setup and the height of your tow vehicle.

As per Fastway you measure frame on level surface, front and back. Once equal measurement is reached, measure from ground to top of coupler. Ball on TV should be as close to measurement of coupler. They say if it is a little higher that's ok.If it is lower, you will have issues. Your WDH manufacture web sight should have good how too's or even youtube

2020 Mini Lite 2014s Hitch Height

When the dealer was installing mine he kept aiming for 24Ē to the top of the ball. We have a new equalizer. Your mileage may vary.

Thanks, Karl. I'll shoot for something in that range. I'll get it figured out one way or another. That trailer WILL be coming home with me.

17" to top of ball, with load on truck, is standard
