2109S Furnace Use with Slider In

We recently purchased a Rockwood 2109s. On our first outing we were unable to extend the slider but required the furnace due to the -2C overnight temperatures. The controls are located on the stationary wall next to the slider and are covered when the slider is in. Is there reason for this design feature? I do not see a reason that the furnace can not be operated with the slider in. Is there any work around?

Yup, if you can't get the slide out some to uncover the thermostat that could be a problem. Get somebody with small hands, reach around & set it by feel, not by sight.

That's a pretty tight fit there from what I remember. Try getting the battery out of a smoke detector with the slide closed before it wakes up the entire neighborhood at 4AM. My slides a little wider and about twice as deep as you guys for the dinette. Not sure where they put your smoke detectors, but they have mine about three feet in from the edge of the slide and almost to the edge of the trailer wall. Let's just say it was....interesting...trying to get to it.
