2109s mini lite propane tank cover - what is supposed to hold it down?
This might be a dumb question, but what is supposed to hold the propane tank cover on?
I don't see anything on the frame that is supposed to attach to the two holes on the bottom of the cover. The reason I ask is because yesterday while going down the expressway, I heard a noise and looked in the rear view mirror only to see the cover fly up and out the driver's side and just miss a van. I ended up taking a detour and going back and look for it. I found it and other than a few scuff marks it is fine. Do I resort to bungees or am I missing something?
Thanks

Nothing. The cover in normally pretty tight. Mine has never fallen off. I even mounted a small solar cell on top of mine to keep my battery charged.
However if would make you fell better you could put a bungee cord across the bottom.

Had the same thing happen to the propane cover for my '08 Roo 23SS. DW and I walked back the 1/4 mile and fetched it, grabbed a small bungee and back on the road we went.
My covers always have a bungee holding them on now. First thing I did with my new Flagstaff was put a bungee on the cover before we left the dealer!

I have a 2306, and mine is so tight it's hard to pull off. I agree that bungees should do the trick.

I put on about 12,000 miles last year and nothing is holding the cover on. Never had any problem. But after reading your post, I may have to get a bungee cord. Welcome to the forum from another 2109S owner.

When we first got our 2306 wife and I wondered if the tank cover should be held on with something. Dealer said no, they never come off. Ours came off. Gone. We made them give us another one. Came off again. We saw it this time but it was destroyed. Third one we put a bungee cord on it finally but we figured out why ours came off. We carry 3 to 4 Kayaks on top of our tow vehicle. It changed the airflow and the resultant wind/vacuum sucked the tank cover right off.
PUT ON THE BUNGEE!

I put a bungee between the two holes on the bottom. The problem I have is mice keep building nest under the cover between the tanks. Makes for a nice dry warm spot.

Thanks, I didn't know that this could be a problem. Off to find a bungee.

I thought the same thing when i noticed there was nothing holding it down. I have about a thousand miles on a small bungie cord and its been holding fine. Just dont forget about when you go to fill your tanks!

Not sure if all brackets are the same, it helps if the tanks are mounted using the outside notches to hold down the tanks. The cover fits very snug.

I put a bungee cord on mine before I left the dealer. I just so happened to have a short bungee in the tool box of my truck. I asked when I picked my brand new 2504s up and got the same answers as others "it will never come off". I didn't want to take the chance.

I haven't lost a cover yet but have lost the little lid on two different covers after upgrading from the original cover. I'm tired of buying new covers so I stopped using the lid and have gone back to just removing the cover when need be.

X2 -- Mine seems to be snug, but better safe than sorry. (I've got the Flagstaff twin to your 2109S).

Just hook a small bungee from eyelet to eyelet under cover simple.
