2306 Random Photos

Hi, I'm gonna start a thread where us 2306 owners can post photos of things we find and feel like sharing and asking questions.

Technical, fun, whatever....

I took off floor from under the bunks and this is what we can find.

Looking up behind the sink to the faucet. I'm considering a faucet upgrade and was looking at what I was facing.

OEM water pump. 3gpm 55psi

Under the sink. Drawers removed.

Under the bathroom sink

I removed that silly paneling under the bathroom sink and doubled my storage under there..... Anything from under the dinette seats? Hoping to put an inverter under there, but haven't looked yet..

I unfortunately don't have my unit close to home. I need to drive 30 min to see it where I keep it. I might go see it on Sunday. If I do, I'll take some pics under the seats.

In the meantime, here are some pics of what the microwave cubby looks like. There were 2 thin sheets of plywood that have been removed so I can make a footing for a toaster oven.

I've relocated the power outlet to the left lower corner to relieve stress on the toaster oven I'm putting in there. Pics to come.

Nice pics. I have a new 2304 and I am amazed at the construction compared to the KZ I had for 6 months. Lousy 2x2's everywhere.

Nurek, will you please be kind enough to post photos of the toaster oven install? We are considering replacing our microwave with a convection micro. Just curious, where are you going to put the microwave? On the counter? Jay

In pic #5 there is what looks like a small pot or sauce pan.
Was that self installed or is it the optional "second pottie" installed at the factory?

That pot sitting there was to catch water that leaked out of my drain after the whole drawer assembly ripped out of the floor and dislodged the pipes on my first trip and I was doing repairs. Such a disaster. All repaired now.

Here is a preview of what I'm planning.

Permanent mounting is being created. Unfortunately the bezel from the microwave doesn't mate up with the oven.

My microwave is just going to live in my storage locker. I have no use for it. I hardly ever use the one in my kitchen as it is.

Thanks Nurek. Right now we have the factory microwave and a smaller toaster oven than you have. We do not have a regular oven in our 2504s. That's ok with us because we would rather have the storage space. Both of us use the micro pretty heavy both at home and in the camper that's why I am looking at a convection unit to get rid of the seperate toaster oven (and DW wants it). Looks like when you pull off the front panel there is quite a bit of room. Jay

Hi Jay.... I finally had time to get to work on my mods.

Here is what I did to mount the toaster oven. Some 1" rails that will stop lateral movement in which the TO sits snugly between.

I also added some Reflectix to save the ceiling from heat.

Now it's in it's place. I will strap a bungee across the front to prevent the door from opening during transit.

I decided to replace the OEM bathroom faucet, which IMO, sits too low to be beneficial to wash your hands.
OEM

Replacement Listed price of $86, but was sitting on the clearance shelf at that price. I told the floor guy that I'll take it, but make me a good offer on it. He asked if $50 was alright. Sold.

Much better clearance, about 2-3" higher.

Under the counter look in case you wondered.

While I was at it, I replaced the shower head with an Oxygenics Body Spa kit ETL 26181. I tested it at home and was happy with it. It will be a refreshing change versus the OEM.

Nurek, thanks a lot for the pics. I have a couple of questions. Are the bottom 2 boards 2x4s? Is that how the trailer came? If its ok to make a suggestion, double up the reflectix on the ceiling and put it doubled up behind the toaster oven. I say this because I have velcro holding one layer of the stuff as a cover over the skylight in the shower. When it's sunny outside, the bottom is VERY warm to the touch. The toaster oven may put out more heat in that small area. Cheap insurance IMHO. From your pics, it looks like when you pull the front panel off the microwave it would allow a much bigger unit to take the place of the original micro. Todduption, what can I say...... Wow! I stole your idea about the headboard mod this summer. One of the best mods anyone can do to any rockwood. For us it COMPLETLY changes how we sleep by not having to fish out pillows or our youngest grandson from the top of the bed! Because we have a 2504s we could only put a tv on the bottom bunk. On of my next mods is the bathroom faucet. The more the original is used the more I hate it. I have allready done "backsplashes" in the bath and kitchen. Jay

Pics- no problem. The boards are not 2x4's but more like 3/4x3's. Yup that is OEM. Then there are 2 thin sheets (OEM) of ply that the microwave sat on. I just put on the rails and screwed everything down onto those 3/4x3's. Yes a larger microwave could go in. Not much bigger tho IMO.

I did a test without Reflectix by cooking a lasagna at 350'F for 45 minutes. I placed my digital thermometer at the top vents and after 30 minutes it was reading 110'F I don't think it will be a problem in the future. There is plenty of space around the oven.

If that is all the hotter it got it will probably be ok. I bet the bottom of the reflectx in out skylight cover was hotter than that on a sunny summer day! Shower head is on my list also. Today I made up stuff to winterize the camper with, like a hot water tank flusher, and a hose with a fitting ot get the pink stuff out of the jug and into the water system. I have been amazed at the genius and craftsmanship of the people here. Jay

Here is my new and improved kitchen faucet. It has pull out, 2 sprays and pause features.

American Standard Plumbing Fixtures - Style That Works Better

It was nice that there was already a whole prepped in the counter top and all I had to do was punch it out with a screwdriver. You can see that on a previous pic.

Looking around the furnace area, I noticed that there is a nice hole to the outside. Time to patch it up with something. Any suggestions?

I'm going to add some 12v lights in the cubby as there wasn't any. Checking out the existing wiring.

There is going to be that one night where I will want to see inside there without using a flashlight.

I'll post up the lights after I've got them done.
