2306 Tire Jack and related tools.

Looked around the camper and even on the spare tire and cannot find the Jack and/or related tools. Have not encountered a flat yet but I was wondering, how do I change a flat? Another question is, where do I place the jack if I have to?

Jack, etc is entirely up to you.

Suggest a Trailer Aid Plus (an inch or so higher than the Trailer Aid):

Camco RV Trailer Aid Plus Black - $39.99

OR, get some Anderson levelers. You can use them instead of the lego blocks for leveling, and I believe they also will work like the Trailer Aid.

Andersen Hitch Camper Leveler | eBay

Depending on the distance between your dual axles, you may have to cut the tip off of one of them. Do a search here for threads explaining it

Yes, I do have a socket with a breaker bar and torque wrench. I do check the torque lugnuts and torque all my vehicle lugnuts. Was hoping for someone to recomend checking some secrect location; so I guess there is none.

Thanks for the info.

I heard (may be myth) that they stopped supplying jacks for changing tires because of liability I then to think the reason was profit driven

Thumbs up Trailer Aid PLUS Recommended

Just purchased the Trailer Aid Plus( lifts a little higher than the std trailer aid) from Amazon. Used this to pull the wheels and drums and repack the bearings.
Keeps the wheel you are working on a few inches off the ground and feels very sturdy, shows supports 18,000 lbs, way more than my Rockwood Mini Lite.
The bottle jack option and the need for a jack stand was my original plan but changed my mind to the Trailer Aid. Way easier and lightweight to carry, just in case I were to get a flat. I did have to purchase a different size lug wrench because my 2014 Silverado has different size nuts. I did use the trucks bottle jack once to change a tire from getting a screw in it and jacked it up under the flat frame near the wheel I was working on. Also had to use lumber to raise the jack. Get the Trailer Aid, you will be happy and worry free.

tire jack

We also use trailer aid plus and it is great. Will not work with some tt due to tandem axcle spread. Won't lift high enough to change tire or repack wheel bearings. Could possibly use 2x12's under trailer aid plus but could slide and be dangerous....

At home I have a set car ramps I use, I just put one in front of or behind the tire and drive up or back up depending on wheel I want to lift, till the other wheel lifts off the ground.
I also tried using by plastic wheel chocks and 5 or 6 of the lego leveling blocks and lift the tire that way.

X3 on the Trailer Aid.
If I'm not mistaken, you aren't suppose to use a jack to lift the camper because of the lightweight frame. And you aren't suppose to lift using the axle tubes because it has torsion axles. (Can swear to that, but I think I read it on here)

2306 tire jack and tools

Totally agree with '53flattle' do not jack on frame of light weight tt unless you put a 4x4 2ft long between frame and jack.. Trailer aid plus is the safe way to go. Love ours

All good advice. I would add to confirm that your lug nuts on the actual wheels versus the one on the spare are the same size. Mine were different so it required two different sockets before I installed my BAL under-body carrier.

???? If that was true you could not ever Jack up the trailer could you?

I carry....

A trailer aid plus with a block of oak 2x10 a few inches longer than the trailer aid in case some more clearance is needed.

A high profile bottle jack.....8 ton I believe with a plate I made up 4" x 4" that fits over the top of the ram.

A 1/2 30" long breaker bar with a socket per the lug size.

A 1/2 drive Milwaukee cordless Impact gun.

You don't need much more than that.

I have no issue jacking a trailer under the axle tube as long as a solid piece of hardwood cribbing is against it, between it and the jack, along with being under a suspension mounting point.

If you can not jack on a so called lightweight frame then it's too light to mount the suspension to in the first place.

I've jacked up many a trailer under the tube, both conventional and torsion at the mounting points over the years, and have yet to damage an axle. To me that's all a bunch of legal dept mumbo jumbo cya verbiage. I guess you always have the chance of some moron placing the jack 3' back the axle tube or putting it on the frame mid way between the axle and a frame LOL.

We have yearly state inspections here in PA and every dealer or trailer place I have seen do one runs out the floor Jack and puts it under the axle tube at the u bolts, or the bracket where the torsion axle mounts.

Common sense is required.

I have a 2504s with torsion axles. We are planning long trips later in the year so changing a flat is a real possibility. How high does a trailer aid raise the other wheel? How about a trailer aid plus? Has anyone used one of these on a torsion axles? I was thinking of using the tv jack with the proper boards ect needed to make it work. Thanks in advance. Jay
