8288WSA Slide Topper

We really prefer to have slide toppers on all of our slideouts. Any idea how one would attach to this slide? We don't want to partially open our awning as a slide topper. Photos would be helpful. Thanks.

Don't believe there's room.

Like Bob, I don't think there is room between the top of your slide and the existing awning to add a topper.

I know on some of the models we looked at, we were told the main awning serves as the slide topper. I didn't care for that explanation.
Everyone says the main awning isn't to be left out during hard rains or winds so what good would it do protecting your slide when rolled up?

I think your unit would need to be equipped like our new 8529IKBS with a slide topper and then a shorter main awning. Our slide then has added to it a 'patio awning' which helps make up for the shorter main awning. (see picture)

Another thought....use your awning and add, like a lot of have done, awning support poles and de-flapper poles. They stay attached to awning hardware for stor'n, mak'n it super easy to use. Have used mine in Wyoming wind, rock solid.....2 folks on this forum make everything....Old Coot and Turbs.

Thanks for your replies and the photo. I believe in the photo the slide topper main assembly is mounted to the slide. Interesting concept.

I have a different unit but similar issue. See this thread: http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...ad.php?t=90234

I was able to install the topper despite tight clearances.
