8289 front cap dents?

The front top of my fifth wheel has two large dents in it looks like the wind from going down the road has pushed it in. Would post pictures but can't seem to do it with my ipad. Anybody else have this problem with front cap dents?

We have the Flagstaff twin of your 5er. There's a molded "V" down the front cap. But dents from wind? I'm stumped.

I'm not quite sure what you are calling dents? I have the same thing I think it looks like a dent but it really isn't. I will post a picture of mine and tell me if that is what you mean ether today or in the morning....So check back....

Ummm nope, ours doesn't look anything like that.

Looks like the entire cap is pulling away from the front roof seam, or is that just an optical illusion?

This is where I bow to those more knowledgeable about such things.

Also mine are closer to where it meets the roof. I do not think that there is any backing in that area. You might be able to pull those cabinets on top and take a better look from the inside. Hard to tell but it looks like the left side roof line is off.

I have the same issue and have forwarded pics to the dealer which they will apparently forward to the warranty rep for Arkansas or South Region. Ours is a 2014' with 3 short trips. Cap looks identical. Feels like lack of support behind the cap, and the lack of material thickness combined with heat from the sun makes for problems. We'll see what they say.
Our warranty rep according to the dealer is Roger Biler (sp?) 574-642-2640... And the number's always busy.

The lack of support is the reason given when I have seen other post like this. I think it depends on the mdl and the way it's framed (not enough back side support).

This is what roger sent back to me after sending pictures. Haven't herd back after replying.

I am sorry to hear about you having a problem with your trailer. Can you give me the last 7 digits of your trailer’s VIN so that I can look up your information and see what can be done?

Thank you.

I had the same problem. My dealer said it was in warranty. They replaced the frt cap and put some support under the cap at the top.

We'll this is what my dealer told me.

Unfortunately Forest River did not offer any assistance with the front cap of your Rockwood. My advise is to call them directly and ask for help with it. That might make all the difference!

I have a small dent on the road side about half way down from the rock shield. Caught it on our PDI and faker took pictures to send to warranty rep.

After reading your post I checked my 2015 8289WS and found the nose cap collapsing the full span just above the ROCKWOOD logo. I pointed it out to the service department at the dealer (RV Outlet Mall, Georgetown, TX) and they said they had never heard of it. We'll see how this turns out.

Rockwood checking with internal departments about a fix or ? They are pretty glib about the issue and have me and the dealer on hold until the end of the week... More as this unfolds. Seems like a cut and dried warranty fix.

This freaked me out enough to go out in the pouring rain to take a look.

Thank goodness for me no issues - but I will sure mention this at Goshen and see what the Techs have to say!
