There is a video on the Forest River web site that shows how to close the tri fold sofa. You have to raise the front of the cushion up quite high as you push towards the wall. There are two hooks on either side in the back that have to lock in as you lower the cushion to hold the sofa in place. Not a very comfortable bed. As one salesman told us "they made it that way so your guests wouldn't stay too long".
