8289ws couch problem

Hi All
Took our new 5er out for maiden voyage and loved it. One thing that is happening when we tow is the couch won't stay latched onto the tracks. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what was the fix?
Thanks in advance.

Mark,

I do not understand what you are describing when you say "won't stay latched into the tracks".

Could you please elaborate.

Same here...our 8289 doesn't have a so called track...not sure what the OP means by that.

Boy, I'm going in for new glasses.

I read that as COACH and not COUCH.

No track in our sofa, unless the OP is referring to the slide out drawer slides.

OK, maybe I am wording this wrong. Our couch opens (not the drawer underneath the couch). The couch falls open during transport. In order to secure it you must push it back into place and it is supposed to lock into place. Maybe there are not tracks, but when we bought it our dealer acted like it slides into place. Hope that clarifies.

Our couch tracks are so tight they don't move at all. We do have 50 lbs of stuff in the bottom so that might help!

We had the same problem with our 2015 Flagstaff 8528IKWS. Man from the couch company came out to the Goshen Rally and worked on it twice. I think he has it fixed. He put new casters on it and made some other adjustments also installed heavier angle brackets on the front corners.

I don't have your model RV but if you have a trifold sofa, you need to hold the front cushion up when you push it back in place and then set it down. If you do a search here, you will find some more info. If it isn't a trifold sofa then this won't work.

Ours does the same thing- when we bring in the slideout in, the bottom of the couch slides forward. Doesn't hurt anything or get in the way. My wife said it did that at our PDI.
